It is very surprising that the 10th generation Honda Accord is only now being launched in Japan after the model was presented in the USA in autumn 2018. In Japan, a country where Kei-cars are extremely popular, since you do not have to show a parking space for their admission, and they are also tax-exempt, the large mid-size sedans, on the other hand, are viewed a little more critically because, just like in Europe, they unfortunately do not enjoy the best reputation, and often considered to be bourgeois and old-fashioned. It is quite different, of course, in the United States, where hatchback sedans have a hard time and are usually spurned by customers. There, notchback sedans enjoy a high reputation, which is why the 10th generation Honda Accord was only presented overseas before being launched on the home market.

OEM + parts - a touch of sportiness

However, Modulo wants to remedy the bourgeois image of a sedan and equips the Honda with OEM + parts, which are supposed to turn the boring hybrid model into an eye-catcher. With 19-inch rims in star design and a small spoiler lip, which is very discreetly attached to the trunk lid, as well as the side skirts with modulo lettering, the hybrid becomes a sporty limousine in no time at all potential competitors to hide. Even the very discreetly inserted in the line Trim at the front, which suggest additional sportiness, blend harmoniously into the overall picture of the new Honda Accord hybrid sedan.

Hybrid drive ensures a green conscience

The Honda Accord receives a hybrid drive with two motors, a petrol engine and an electric motor exclusively for the Japanese market. The internal combustion engine produces 2 hp from a 145 liter displacement and is a naturally aspirated VTEC engine. This is combined with a 184 hp electric motor, resulting in a system output of approx. 300 hp and a maximum torque of 315 Nm. In addition, the electric motor is equipped with a starter generator and a battery set and the power is transmitted via a continuously variable automatic, which is called Honda eCVT. Equipped in this way, the hybrid Honda should not pose any obstacle to traffic and make rapid progress on the country road and highway, even though there are unfortunately no official data on driving performance yet.

Green pioneer, unfortunately not in Germany.

It is a pity that this Honda Accord does not officially make its way to Europe because it combines sportiness and driving pleasure with a green conscience. This car, above all with the modulo parts, which have already been listed above, would look good on Europe and could heat up a Toyota Camry Hybrid, which has also been available in Germany for some time, in terms of sales figures. If the Toyota has a reputation as an eco-taxi, the Honda could do well with the brand's sporty image in the battle for the hybrid crown in the upper middle class, since the Honda hybrid models can have a much sportier and more dynamic image among car fans, than their competitors from Toyota. Incidentally, the modulo OEM + parts are available in Japan immediately from the market launch and the new hybrid from Honda costs 4.650.000 yen, which corresponds to around 39.000 euros. However, no import costs are included. If we receive more information in a timely manner, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
