The SUV wave has produced many powerful models, but few have incorporated the luxury aspect like this Lincoln Navigator. From its debut in 1998 to today, the Navigator has represented American XXL luxury on four wheels. The Navigator actually had its roots in Ford expedition, an SUV that was also successful, but was aimed more at the mass market. Lincoln, as a luxury offshoot of Ford, had the vision of building an SUV for the upper class that was impressive in terms of both technology and design. In 1998, when the first generation of the Lincoln Navigator was introduced, it was the largest vehicle the brand had ever produced. There was work going on under the hood 5,4-liter engine V8 with at the beginning 230 PS.

With a length of over 5 meters and a width of almost 2 meters, the Navigator dominated its competitors and set new standards for space and luxury. The interior was equipped with leather seats, real wood applications and the latest technology. In 2003 the second generation of the navigator was introduced. This was characterized by a more elegant design, a better drive train and new technologies. The new engine, a 5,4-liter V8, now performed powerfully 300 PS. He also now owned one independent rear suspension, which significantly increased comfort.

Then in 2007 there was that third generation of the Lincoln Navigator. This once again offered more luxury, including an even improved interior design and expanded technology options, such as a Navigation system with touchscreen and a THX-certified surround sound system. Technically speaking, the 5,4-liter V8 engine remained, but with slight adjustments for greater efficiency and performance.

The fourth and still current generation The Lincoln Navigator was introduced in 2017. This once again represented the pinnacle of luxury and technology, with a completely revised design that combines modern looks with classic Lincoln features. Things are now working under the hood 3,5 liter V6 EcoBoost engine with an output of up to 455 hp. And the current Navigator also has a lot to offer in terms of technology, including a 12 inch display for infotainment, adaptive cruise control and a head-up display.

The Navigator has also made great strides in terms of safety over the years. From simple ABS and first generation airbags to advanced systems like adaptive intersection support, 360-degree camera and lane departure warning in the latest generation. One of the key features of the Navigator that sets it apart from other SUVs is its comprehensiveness adjustable chassis. This allows the driver to adjust the comfort or performance as required, which in combination with the good engine performance results in a unique driving experience.

The Navigator has also spawned a number of special editions over the years, including the Navigator L, which is an extended version, and the Navigator Black Label, which takes the luxury experience to the extreme with special interior colors and materials.
