Luxgen, the premium brand of the machine and automobile manufacturer Yulon Motor, which is based in Taiwan, has been in existence since 2011 and is at least celebrating great success in its home market. The models have their very own design style, which looks very elegant and at the same time youthful and modern. Thus, the brand was able to win the first fans in the Asian tuning scene who think outside the box and no longer feel like tuning a bashful VW Golf or one of various Honda Civic models. The brand is also represented on the Chinese market, but is an absolute exotic there. This beautiful black specimen, which we now introduce to you, drives on the streets of Taiwan and was tuned by the owner on his own.
The look immediately catches the eye.
The first thing you notice about the matt black foiled Luxgen S5 is the extremely low front of the asphalt planer, which feels crouched just millimeters above the ground, which is adorned by a DIY front spoiler and a black painted grill with barely visible brand logo. Side skirts and rear bumper with two tailpipes that suggest a four-pipe look in the current AMG style, of which we unfortunately do not know whether it is a fake exhaust, attract everyone's attention and were also manufactured by the tuner itself. In order to lower the Luxgen S5 so far, an AccuAir airride suspension with e-level control was installed, which together with the 18-inch rims from Work Wheels, which were also kept completely in black, are the only modifications to the car, that were not made by the owner himself. All other body modifications such as the drawn wheel arches and the Porsche style duck apron spoiler were also created by the Luxgen refiner himself. So this is a perfectly tuned show car with a professional at work.
The interior has largely remained standard.
No modifications were made to the interior, except for the attachment of the e-level control unit for the AccuAir chassis. The interior of the Luxgen S5 has remained as standard. The cabin is already styled very modern in the series and the highlight in the cockpit are probably the digital speedometer and rev counter in the Honda S2000 style.
The engine was not changed.
Upon request, the compact sedan from Taiwan is powered by a 1,8-liter turbo engine with rather poor 170 HP and 256 Newton meters of maximum torque, which comes from Renault. In addition, there is also a sportier GT version, which is available in two power levels with 205 and 225 hp and 300 or 310 Newton meters. The power transmission takes place either via a manual transmission with 5 gears, as in the model presented by us, or via a six-speed automatic with manual mode. Depending on the engine variant, the top speed is between 210 and 230 km / h and the sprint from 0 to 100 takes between 6,7 and 8,5 seconds. This means that the Luxgen S5 is, with the best will in the world, not a traveling dune, but a veritable competitor on the highway for established compact sedans from German or Japanese production. Unfortunately, we do not know which of the offered engine variants works under the hood of the model we are presenting.
