Almost two years ago Mansory is crazy again Grono's G63 AMG Black Edition with 828PS presented and a good year later Gronos a facelift missed. And even the 4 × 4² was already extensively modified last year and supplied with more power! And now, just in time for the Geneva Motor Show, the German tuner is presenting the extreme modifications, in a slightly revised version, on the Mercedes-Benz G500 4 × 4², making the extreme Stuttgart climber look even more extreme. Incidentally, not only Mansory uses Geneva for the presentation of the modified G500 4 × 4², Brabus has also dealt with the Brabus 550 Adventure 4 × 4² the rare copy made properly! In both vehicles, the modifications are outstanding and probably decide only the personal taste. But now for Gronos! For a solid off-road vehicle, 44 centimeters above the ground is a really great freedom and a fording depth of one meter will probably convince every fan of off-road vehicles. Mercedes-Benz launched a spectacular small series of the G500 4 × 4² in 2015 that has no competition. And MANSORY has now set about giving the "G" a new look and not leaving the technology untouched.
The manufactory for tuning cars, located in the Fichtelgebirge, goes far beyond the lift-up of the manufacturer from Untertürkheim with the widening of the fenders made of carbon. The ambitious technicians and engineers, under the direction of Kourosh Mansory, set a complete Widebody to the factory already very high cut monster. The bulky fenders combine angular side skirts and wide door skins. An elaborately designed rear apron supports the sporty touch and the extreme appearance. Front gives a new front bumper better underrun protection and as a whole, the result is a round appearance of the actually angular model.
Modern lighting with LED
The headlights have an unexpected interior design. Central headlights are surrounded by cleverly arranged indicators. The turn signal LEDs are the size of a pinhead. They are built into small individual headlights. Four powerful headlights on the front roof of the vehicle provide plenty of brightness away from the usual light sources. So there is enough "sun"! The lush widebody kit is, by the way, an in-house development by MANSORY. The Gronos Black Desert is made entirely of ultra-light carbon. For years, the company from Brand in Bavaria has earned international attention for body parts made of carbon fiber in the finest quality, and this is also the case with the Gronos. The advantages of carbon are obvious: best stability with minimum torsional rigidity and minimized weight as in aviation and Formel-1, Our own autoclaves make tuning specialists independent from suppliers and this reduces the quality risks. The Expertise Carbon secures the turnover and opens up a great deal of freedom in aesthetic design that is optimized in terms of design, and this can be seen in every vehicle from Mansory.
The absolute visual eye-catcher is the mottled dip painting of the visible flat molded parts made of carbon. The Liquid Black color of the Gronos Black Desert is innovative and unique and it is impossible to overlook this vehicle. A newly developed process consisting of several steps applies the color. This special technology creates a fascinating surface with the unique Black Desert structure that we have also seen on the Mansory Bentley Bentayga "Black Edition". And of course more power is part of it.

Engine development results in an increase in the output of the V8 biturbo with four liters of displacement by a whopping 47 kW, to 485 HP. The torque has also been increased by 100NM and is now 710NM! The in-house forged wheels M8 (we have recently on Audi SQ7 4M seen) to apply. Their suitability results from a complex manufacturing process that is ideal for the Gronos Black Desert. This process achieves very low material thicknesses and at the same time the highest load capacity. With the lowest unsprung mass, the manufacture achieves dynamic driving behavior on the road and stabilizing control off the road. And there are also a lot of changes inside because MANSORY has comprehensively redesigned the interior. The tuner designed the dashboard and the center console more elegantly than is the case at the factory.
The refined use of carbon and leather in the technically more sophisticated control center, which perfectly matches the design of the widebody, increases comfort in the long term and simply makes more. Embroidered MANSORY logos, robust aluminum pedals or illuminated door sills prove the high demands of the interior decorator. As a highlight that has come true, LED glitter stars with controllable color and light intensity shine from the sky of the interior like in a Rolls Royce. Comfortable individual seats replace the rear bench and make a class difference here compared to the series clear. MANSORY confirms its excellent reputation as an expert in fine quality.
