Ruesselsheim. Opel is one of the e-pioneers among car manufacturers. With the dynamic Mokka-e, the brand's latest Stromer is just getting onto the road. And Opel already grants a first glimpse of another exciting electric project: the Opel Manta GSe ElectroMOD is a reminiscence of the legendary Opel Manta from 1970. At the same time, the car reflects the fascination of a growing fan base who transforms classics like the Manta into so-called RestoMods with modern technologies and a new design. The purely battery-electric Manta GSe ElektroMOD with its fully digital cockpit is sporty like a real Opel GSe and proudly bears its ambitions in its name. MOD stands for change, for technical and stylistic MODIFICATIONS as well as a MODERN sustainable lifestyle. The German spelling “Elektro” is also reminiscent of the Opel Elektro GT, which set world records for e-vehicles 50 years ago.

Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD!

Now, with the new electric drive that is fully suitable for everyday use, the Opel Manta is virtually immortal - regardless of spare parts for the engine and transmission and the threat of driving bans for older combustion engines. The transformation to ElektroMOD also shows how timeless the lines from 1970 are. What was sculptural and straightforward half a century ago still fits perfectly with the Opel design philosophy today. The Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD stands there boldly and clearly and confidently starts a new future: electric, emission-free - full of emotions. The beautiful 1970s Manta recently inspired the design of the new Opel brand face - this is also taken up by the Manta GSe ElektroMOD. The so-called Opel Vizor seamlessly combines the vehicle grille, headlights and sensors as well as the brand logo in one element.

consistent electrification of the brand

The Vizor will thus become the trademark of all future Opel models - the youngest newcomers Opel Crossland and Opel Mokka are already proudly wearing it in series. The Manta GSe ElektroMOD consistently follows the Opel path towards electrification of the brand - for both passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Every series of the German manufacturer will be electrified by 2024. The customer already has the choice between plug-in hybrids such as the Grandland X and purely battery-electric generators. A wide range is already available here, from the small Opel Corsa-e to the Opel Zafira-e Life MPV, and from the Opel Combo-e high-roof van to the Opel Vivaro-e van.

Don't worry, of course that was far from being the case when it came to auto / auto tuning. Our magazine still has tens of thousands other tuning reports in stock. Do you want to see them all?
