As early as the 80s, Audi and Peugeot ran wild hill climbs on Pikes Peak in Colorado with what were once Group B vehicles and drivers like Juha Kankkunen or Walter Röhrl. The history of the 19,99 kilometer long and now legendary route even dates back to 1916. The background was to make the then newly built road to the summit a well-known tourist attraction with the competition. In any case, it was successful because the event is known all over the world. And now McLaren has Denver as the closest dealer to Pikes Peak with the in-house tuner "MSO (McLaren Special Operations) “An exclusive special series of 6 vehicles of the 600LT Spider as Pikes Peak Collection. Each vehicle shines with a new paint job from the MSO Bespoke and MSO Heritage program. These are the colors 'White Gold', 'Nerello Red', 'Black Gold', 'Volcano Red', 'Aurora Blue' and 'Midas Gray'.

All vehicles are fitted with matt golden Speedline rims in the style of the gold-black stripes over the front, roof and rear end. And the cars of course have the MSO Club Sport package with carbon front vents, carbon-fiber baffles, titanium wheel bolts, and ultra-light carbon Senna seats. However, this package is included as standard in the 600LT. Not included in the standard range are the golden accents in the interior. Here, McLaren Denver has used dull gold to decorate the upper part of the carbon-fiber steering wheel, which also comes with an 12 watch mark. The headrests show the emblem of the Pikes Peak Hillclimb and below the center console is a metal plaque that points to the Pikes Peak Collection with respective vehicle number. Mechanically everything stays the same. The vehicles each perform 600 PS thanks to V8 BiTurbo with 3,8 liter displacement.
