The team at DTE-Systems GmbH has a very recently upgraded Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 that we would like to show you. As is well known, the CLS as a 53 series is the first vehicle as a 53 series with the E-Class Coupé and the convertible. The in-line six-cylinder M 256 with 48-volt electrical system, which celebrated its premiere in the S 500, is installed in the CLS. From the factory it makes 435 PS & 520 NM which can be achieved by means of a turbocharger and additional electric compressor. Thanks to the starter generator (“EQ Boost”), a further 16 kW (22 PS) can be added for a short time and this should ensure particularly good response behavior.
505 PS (+ 70 PS) and 645 Nm (+ 125 Nm)
In combination with the "new" all-wheel drive system 4Matic + (electromechanically controlled clutch) and the 9-speed automatic converter with wet start-up clutch instead of a torque converter, it goes to 4,5 km / h in just 100 seconds. With the “PowerControl RX” tuning box with the latest 5-channel tuning technology, DTE is now getting an impressive 3,0 hp (+505 hp) and 70 Nm (+645 Nm) torque from the 125 in-line six-cylinder. This is almost on par with the CLS63 AMG predecessor of the C218 series with V8 BiTurbo. And DTE Systems is the first tuner to even offer the PowerControl app with voice control for the Apple iPhone (iOS 12). This allows the driver to personalize shortcuts in the tuning app and use them after they have been set up.
