We have an absolute one again Tuning exotic discovered. Namely a Mercedes-Benz ML 60 (Series W 163) from the Mercedes tuner Renntech. The first ML rolled off the assembly line in February 1997 in Vance, Alabama, and was supposed to be a kind of replacement or at least an alternative to the G-Class. And in 1999 there was even the first AMG version of the ML with a 5,4-liter V8 (M 113) and 347 hp and 510 Nm of torque. At the time, the AMG ran a remarkable 235 km / h and accelerated to country road speed in under 7 seconds. And this very special example in black is no longer an ordinary ML 55. Because the SUV received a racing technology treatment. And since then it has been called the 55 "ML 60". The 5,4-liter V8 was namely to 6,0-liter displacement drilled out and got to it Mahle flask and a specially forged one crankshaft with Titanium connecting rods.
420 PS and 629 Nm torque
The result was one performance increase to 420 hp and 629 Nm torque. These are still impressive key data as we think. The current vehicle was recently over Autobarn Classic Cars for sale and even had a Renntech certificate of authenticity signed by Hartmut Feyhl (President of Renntech) with it.
The certificate lists all changes made, since not only the increase in displacement and performance are interesting. For example, the gearbox was also reinforced to withstand the increased power. In addition, the AMG-V8 got a specially made one exhaust system and the brake system all around has been adapted to the increase in performance. A system with black lacquered saddles and large ones was installed perforated discs.
19 inch Renntech monolith alloy wheels
Even one Lowering by a clear 7,62 cm means coilover with adjustable dampers there was. In addition, the ML60 stands on 19 × 9 inches Renntech monolith alloy wheels and from the B-pillar are those Windows clearly darkened. The cabin, on the other hand, appears to be standard and impresses with its typical AMG flair. In other words, there are displays with a white background, black leather interior and various wooden applications. In addition, of course, the typical Mercedes amenities in the form of electric window lifters, seat heating, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and the infotainment system.
