The team from B&B Automobiltechnik recently showed what you can get out of the new one Mini Countryman S can do anything, and then it's the turn of the next copy. This time it was the brand new mini convertible John Cooper Works JCW which with a maximum increase in performance to 228 kW / 310 PS & 465 Nm trumped the first generation of the BMW E36 M3 (286PS). This increases the performance of the new Mini JCW from a pretty impressive 231 PS and 320 Nm, using Stage 3, to a whopping 310 PS and 465 Nm. As a result, the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km / h drops from 6,3 to 5,4 seconds and thus almost 1 second is achieved. Much more extreme is the difference in the top speed, which increases from 246 km / h to over 280 km / h. In order to achieve such driving performance, a high-performance intercooler, a special downpipe and also the processing of intake paths and air ducts as well as the increase of the boost pressure including adaptation of the injection maps are required. If you don't necessarily want the full range, there are also smaller performance kits of 260 hp or 272 hp.

But they all have one thing in common, in all performance levels the elimination of the electronically limited top speed is included and the Mini can show what is possible. By the way, drivers of mini models with automatic transmission do not have to be afraid because here an electronic adjustment takes place in order to cope with the new performance. In order to underpin the whole thing acoustically, B&B offers both a sport rear silencer and a sport exhaust system from Kat, with electronic valve control. A hardcore version in the form of a B & B racing exhaust system with metal catalysts is also available. The racing system alone is responsible for an increase in output of approx. 15 kW / 20 PS. B&B recommends installing a special additional oil cooling system for every increase in performance, which is supplied with a thermostat in OEM quality.

So that the load comes to a standstill, there is a high-performance brake system which definitely gives the mini driver a reassuring feeling of outstanding safety because whoever accelerates quickly has to come to a standstill quickly. This is ensured by 342mm brake discs on the front axle which even surpass a normal pizza. A big advantage is that this brake system can also be installed with the original MINI JCW wheels in 18 inches. Finally, there is an optional set of light alloy wheels of type B9 which measure 8,0 × 18 inches on the front and rear axles and are equipped with 215 / 35-18 tires.
