Who doesn't dream of actually driving a vehicle from a video game? And that is exactly what is now possible! Driving a car from a video game is for one single person now feasible. Because it can be won. The developers of the upcoming video game "Cyberpunk 2077" (by Rockstar) have commissioned a fictional vehicle that should come into reality. Hintergrund: Cyberpunk 2077 is set in a dystopian future where electronics rule every part of daily life. In the game, players can drive a car known as the Quadra Type-66, the design of which was borrowed from classic muscle cars of the 1960s and early 1970s. And in real life, the team from Rockstar Performance Garage even had to invest less time and brainpower in the vehicle than you might think.
Quadra Type-66 Ford Mustang
Because the basis for the replica of the virtual copy was already in place with a very similar-looking car as a donor. You simply used a 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback. The team acquired the vehicle with only 37.000 miles on the clock and gave it that typically futuristic-looking look. This includes, for example, a two-tone paint job in yellow and black, a radiator grille with LED headlights, chic black aluminum rims with central locking optics from Rotiform and Mickey Thompson tires. There were also a few stickers all around and of course a red “Quadra” lettering on the radiator grille. In the interior, the steering wheel has been replaced by one with three spokes and there are also specially adapted seats with new leather upholstery.

The Mustang is still powered by its original 289 cubic inch V8 (4,9 liter), but some performance changes have been made to the engine. For example, there was a new fuel injection system, there was a fat 3,0 inch K&N sports air filter and a Magnaflow exhaust system is now installed under the metal sheet of the Mustang for a befitting soundscape. With technical changes such as a fully adjustable coilover kit or disc brakes at the front and rear, the unique piece is impressively rounded off. Other changes known to us are modern fog and taillights, a kicker audio system and a new instrument cluster with multiple adjustable lights (Quadra Yellow is standard).
