Rowe

In 2004 the Chinese SAIC group bought the building rights for various models from the insolvent British manufacturer Rover. However, the Rover trademark rights remain with BMW to this day, which is why the SAIC Group launched the Roewe brand. In Chinese, the brand is called "Rong Wei", which means something like "glorious power". However, the pronunciation is reminiscent of the English "Wrong Way", which is why the brand is not officially sold outside of China. In the tuning scene, the brand plays in contrast to its sister brand MG, which also belongs to SAIC, hardly plays a role, since MG takes on the sporty and youthful role within the group, while Roewe is mainly supposed to make older customers happy. That is why there are far fewer tuning parts for the Roewe models than for MG vehicles, although the vehicles of the two brands are technically very closely related and are based on the same platforms.
