Ruffian Galaxie: completely crazy 1964 Ford Galaxie restomod!

The one-of-a-kind Ruffian Galaxie is a crazy example of how a classic car like the 1964 Ford Galaxie can be transformed into an engineering marvel. The very special vehicle, presented last year SEMA 2023, is a product of creativity and craftsmanship Ruffian Cars and its owner Chris Ashton. Ashton, known for his “special” Restomod projects like a Ford Mustang and a GT40 replica (Links at the end of the post), has with the Ruffian galaxy has now realized his third and perhaps coolest project. Let's come to the optics first: The front apron is an expanded version of the original and behind it follow in the machined wheel arches 325 mm wide slippers on multi-part 20 inch rims. Another feature is the significantly modified bumper, which was welded together from two upper halves.

An aggressive one Splitter in Pikes Peak style at the front and a massive one diffuser at the rear complement the aerodynamic profile of the classic. The heart of the renovation, however, is the completely revised one Chassis. In contrast to the vehicles of the time, which usually had a separate body on a frame construction, the Ruffian galaxy like a racing car on one completely new tubular frame chassis built up. The design made it possible to set the vehicle extremely low while still making room for the huge wheels. The rear fender As far as we know, they are screwed together to make it easier to assemble and disassemble the wheels. The mods underline the focus on racing, which is also reflected in the race tank and centrally installed 526ci Ford FE engine with 700 hp becomes clear. Another unmistakable feature of the Ruffian galaxy is of course the Painting.

At least $300.000 was invested

The two-tone camouflage paint, which was applied by hand by Chris Ashton over the course of hours Auto Addiction OC Completed in detail, it is inspired by the color schemes of World War II warships, such as the USS Alabama. All of this is complemented by bright yellow graphics and a sky blue painted interior. As for the cost of the unique piece, the exact price is unknown, but it is estimated that at least 300.000 dollars were invested in the renovation. This could make the Ruffian Galaxy the most expensive second-generation Galaxy. With the breathtaking look and the typical racing car design, it is Ruffian galaxy a real work of art on wheels and a tribute to the past.
