In terms of restorations and modifications, the team of companies founded by Rob Dickinson in 2009 is available Singer Vehicle Design from the United States at the absolute top as we think. From the very beginning, the boys have specialized in classic one-of-a-kind dreamlike pieces with modern technology as so-called Restomods to create. And another prime example is the latest project in the form of the “Singer Octagon Commission 911”. A traveling feast for the eyes (like all Singer vehicles) which belongs to a whole "Commission" series. Including the Anglet Commission, Dolores Commissionn, WarrenCommission and the Honor Roll Commission. At first glance, all vehicles differ only in the paint used and the color of the interior. But much more details make the difference.
Singer Vehicle Design Octagon Commission
The Singer Vehicle Design Octagon Comission 911 shines in dreamy Sherlock Blue with extremely elegant stripes and lettering in the color champagne. The body is characterized by the well-known details such as the eye-catching fuel filler neck on the front hood, the typical retro rims in the Fuchs design with BiColor optics in black and matt silver and of course the ultra-modern headlights at the front and rear. The fact that the lights are equipped with modern lenses and LED technology is only immediately apparent to the connoisseur due to the classic look and is a good example of what makes a Restomod vehicle. In contrast, the changes in the interior are much more striking. So high quality and attention to detail back then (and also today) no factory XNUMX ever leaves the production facilities. There is an abundance of color and material combinations in the interior, which are always built in close consultation and tailored according to the concrete specifications of the new owner. But here too there are countless components from the present.
Instrument cluster with classic optics
Worth mentioning are, for example, the four-way electrically adjustable sports seats, an instrument cluster with classic round instruments or the handmade sports steering wheel with the contrasting stitching. The addressed seats are covered with braided leather in brown and have nickel-plated eyelets as eye-catchers. And the Singer logo on the dashboard is nickel-plated and the seams in this cabin are made in alabaster. The front luggage compartment is equipped with quilted leather in cognac to match the interior, which even applies to the inside of the rear engine cover. And that the entire bodywork has been restored down to the last corner is also evident, for example, from the completely painted center tunnel and the shapes of the rear seat, which flawlessly bear the exterior color of the XNUMX.
air-cooled 4,0 liter six-cylinder
And of course the completely new engine must also be addressed. In the rear, Singer's air-cooled 4,0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine works, which, as always, was flanged to a manual six-speed gearbox. As a rule, the engine delivers around 500 hp and is capable of up to 9.000 rpm. to turn. However, we do not know the exact key data of this copy. Once again, the American company is showing a handcrafted one-off that impressively demonstrates what the committed team can do.
