Only this week Mercedes has that lifted AMG E53 4Matic + Coupé and the technically identical convertible presented. It's hard to believe that the C 238 (Coupe) has already been on the market for three years as an independent series, which of course also applies to the Cabriolet (A 238). Of course, the facelift has many changes to offer, such as the latest and best MBUX infotainment system, modified aprons and revised headlights at the front and rear. But that in particular the changes to the optics by no means "overdue“Were, shows us this copy from the Miami-based tuner RodSpeed. The company has grabbed an E53 AMG Coupe and shows with successful modifications that the PreFacelift E53 is still visually up-to-date and can keep up with the model update at any time.

Full foil with a chrome foil

The main visual focus is of course on the full film in the high-gloss copper tone. The ones in this country - in our opinion - Chrome foil that is not allowed successfully puts the elegant coupé in the limelight and harmonizes perfectly with the many black accents. They were set very skillfully at the Stuttgart. While the air inlets in the apron, the exterior mirrors, the roof, the spoiler lip on the tailgate or the diffuser in the black contrast are well known, the radiator grille is a peculiarity of this vehicle. It was completely wrapped in black, which also applies to the area between the headlights. This small detail ensures an unusual look on the E-Coupe and is underpinned in particular with the clearly darkened headlight glasses.

darkened headlights in front and behind

The front end of the E53 AMG looks more aggressive and at the same time even more dynamic, although we would like to point out here that the darkened headlights are definitely also here are not permitted. And that also applies to the apparently glazed rear lights and reflectors. They are also clearly darkened compared to the series and thus visually match the overall picture. And there shouldn't be any problems with that in America. Changes of this kind are there, namely no problem. And then there is the new wheelset. In combination with a subtle lowering, RodSpeed installed a set of Vossen HF-2 forged wheels in the format 20 x 9 inches at the front and 20 x 10,5 inches at the rear.

high-gloss black surface

The rims with their high-gloss black surface naturally fit perfectly with the BiColor look of the E53 AMG and successfully round off the Stuttgart. With small details such as the brake calipers painted all around in body color and the slightly darkened side windows at the front (also not allowed in Germany) the optical appearance of the E53 is successfully rounded off. A chic vehicle that we definitely don't have to hide behind the facelift. We currently have no further details on the E53 AMG from RodSpeed. If we receive timely information on further changes not previously mentioned, there is of course an update for this report.
