In Europe and the USA, it will soon be a thing of the past and will gradually be replaced by ID models. But in China it is currently unthinkable to take it off the market. We are talking about the VW Passat, the variant mentioned in this B8 in China under the model name magotan is offered. For us it is not really understandable why VW wants to say goodbye to the successful notchback model, because sedans, whether with notchback or hatchback, are actually on the rise again. You just have to look at the successes of Tesla, a brand that does not own a conventional SUV model, but mainly relies on crossover coupés and sedans. The fact is that not every car buyer prefers an SUV, and especially with an electric drive, a classic sedan often makes more sense from our point of view than a heavy, tall SUV with poor aerodynamics.

Definitely not a retired car!

But that is still a long way off and now we come to a VW Magotan that is registered in China and whose tuning crew already knew at the Cool Car Show fair how to make the hearts of tuning fans beat faster. People like to say that the VW Passat / Magotan is a retired car and that it looks pretty stuffy. That may well be true in the series state, but this copy knows with cool Tuning to shine.

Next to the R-Line sports package, which was already installed at the factory, are joined by eye-catching, multi-part ones after the modification alloy wheels in 20-inch format called SSR Formula, which draws everyone's attention with their enormous low-bed optics, ornate styling and chrome finish. In addition to the rims, there was also a Airride chassis installed by Feel Air, which presses the Magotan close to the ground and ensures significantly more street presence. Of course, a Camber-Tuning not missing, and this specimen is one of the B8 models that shines with the most negative camber we have ever seen on one. There is also another one behind the rims AP racing brake system with brake discs that have a diameter of 355 millimeters. This should bring the dynamic Wolfsburg to a safe stop in all driving situations.

The vehicle also has some minor modifications, such as one Illuminated graphics the LED headlights, which are based on those of the Audi RS7 and a Sports exhaust system with two tailpipes as thick as upper arms, which come along in the Audi RS style. Last but not least, there was also a small one Rump spoiler attached in carbon look, which probably comes from a 3D printer. Modified in this way, the Magotan can not only be seen at every tuning show in the Middle Kingdom, but should also attract the looks of the car enthusiastic crowd in this country.

We do not know anything about the drive of the car!

Due to the fact that the vehicle is complete except for the VW emblem on the rear cleared unfortunately we do not know which heart is under the hood of the Magotan. We only know that it is a gasoline engine with a DSG transmission, which sends its power to the front wheels.

Our Conclusion for the VW Magotan B8:
