CMX500 Rebel »Maanboard« wins Honda Customs competition 2022

Honda today announced the winners of the Honda Customs competition 2022. The bike »Maanboard« received the most votes in the online voting; the customized CMX500 Rebel from the Honda dealer "Motocicli Audaci" based in Sardinia took first place. Over 8.000 visitors to the Honda Customs website (www.hondacustoms.com) gave their opinion on ten artistic conversions based on the CMX500 Rebel and the CMX1100 Rebel, with bikes from Italy, Great Britain, Portugal, Spain and France taking part. All ten were on display at the Honda stand at the Wheels & Waves Festival in Biarritz in July. The top 3 bikes received "likes" from 5.175, 4.823 and 4.335 users respectively - and thus collected 63%, 59% and 53% of all votes cast respectively.

Winner: »Motocicli Audaci«

The winning Honda dealer »Motocicli Audaci« was inspired for his creation by the typical dirt track racer look of the 1930s. A Springer fork was installed as the front wheel suspension in connection with 19 inch wire spoke rims, together with a stainless steel exhaust system, which rounds off an SC Project silencer. The tank and custom tail are adorned in candy blue with gold leaf inlays. The striking look is rounded off by a handcrafted leather seat and artful handlebar risers.

Second place went to British bike builder Guy Willison's »5Four Honda Rebel Street«. After earlier conversions based on the CB1100 RS and the CB1000R, his "Rebel Street" attracted the attention of the online community thanks to the noble paint composition in ivory and candy red in connection with spoked wheels, a sporty seat hump and a stainless steel lamp mask. The Portuguese dealer Honda Garonda secured third place with the gold and white Rebel »Lucy«, in which a CB175 from the late 60s and early 70s served as a visually timeless model.

The top three bikes are based on the CMX500 Rebel, which has enjoyed tremendous popularity since its launch in 2017 and was the best-selling custom bike in Europe in 2021. In the meantime, the CMX1100 Rebel has also been added to the model range; the big sister model has long since successfully established itself as a platform for individual customizing and creative conversions. The website remains for those interested in taking a closer look at all ten Custom Rebels www.hondacustoms.com Available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
