HGP presents the giant: The VW Golf R36 BiTurbo! Attention friends of the cultivated frenzy on the left lane: If you thought a Golf couldn't get any more brutal, then HGP now has news for you. The tuner shows off its latest prank, and it's a real monster: The VW Golf R36 BiTurbo! The compact speedster as you know it has been transformed into a real rocket prototype. Let’s delve deeper and uncover the technical wonders of this bullet.
From 0 to 100 in a breathtaking 3,1 seconds!
Everything is right with this Golf: The Basic is a VW Golf 6R (MK6). But what lurks under the hood is a completely different story. There we have one 3,6 liter six-cylinder from the VW Passat R36. To tame this beast, a reduction in compression was made, new pistons were installed and more powerful fuel injection was added. A cast Aluminum intake pipe with additional MPI nozzles provides even more power. And then there are the two HGP R28 turbocharger and not just one, but two intercoolers. A revised one DSG from the Audi RS3 directs the brute force. This monster's heart is pumping hard 745PS and 925 Newtonmeter torque.
But not only the motor power impresses. The KW Clubsport coilover suspension offers fully adjustable dampers and aluminum support layers, giving the Golf incredible road grip. But let's get to the numbers that really count: the sprint from 0 at 100 km / h is in incredible 3,1 seconds completed. What's even more impressive is that in just 8,91 seconds shoots to 200 km/h and the 300 km/h in only 22,01 seconds reached. You almost spit away!
More than just one variant
For those who think that 745 hp might be a bit "over the top", HGP also has a slightly "smoother" variant on offer: a Golf mit 530 PS and 700 Newtonmeter. Here the R36 engine is operated with just one turbocharger. Anyone who now thinks: “I want that!” should dig deep into their pockets. Because the upgrade is available for 65.000 Euros – plus the car itself, of course.
