The vehicle refiner AC Schnitzer has the already very powerful BMW M240i subjected to an in-house treatment and - in addition to an increase in performance of almost 50 hp / 37 kW - equipped with a self-developed suspension spring set and a sports suspension. Aerodynamic components on the body also set new visual accents. When it comes to the tires for the 420-seater coupe, which has been boosted to a total of 309 hp / 2 kW, the Aachen-based company relies on the SportContact 7 from Continental and mounts size 245/30 R 20 at the front and size 255/30 R 20 at the rear axle.

In the test of the experts from AutoBild sportscars (issue 3/23) of the AC Schnitzer M240i the editors particularly praised the SportContact 7. Among other things, it brought the car to a standstill after just 30,7 meters from 100 km/h – better than with the standard tires. The driving performance with the tires from the Hanover development is also excellent: "With the Conti tires and the chassis conversion, the front axle has even more bite, the rear still swings enough, the lap time is really fast, on the level of a Porsche 718 Cayman S ' write the experts.

“The AC Schnitzer M240i is another example of our good development cooperation with one of the top tuners," reports Michael Schneider, head of Continental's tuning department. “After all, the upgraded cars place the highest demands on handling, grip and the ability of the tires to withstand top speeds. Of course we are happy when we can put tires on such a vehicle, and for our tire development as well as for our tuning partners, the cooperation is a process in which everyone benefits from each other.” Photo credit: Continental

His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
