Now residents of Chemnitz can rent a trailer in the city for free rent! As a novelty, the company Freetrailer is now making rental trailers available to all residents of Chemnitz. The trailers are large and spacious and are free to use. When residents of Chemnitz transport large items such as furniture, electrical appliances or building materials, it is often difficult to fit them in the trunk. This can be very frustrating what that Sharing-Economy company wants to avoid free trailers. The company is now providing three tags that can be used for whatever purpose you want, free of charge.
Rent a trailer in Chemnitz
Ralf Stolz, Country Manager for Freetrailer in Germany, is delighted with the launch of the company in the city: "Chemnitz has about 244.000 inhabitants. With so many people in a city, there is a huge need to move different things around the city every day. In your own car, this can be cumbersome or even impossible without a large trailer. This is the main reason why we are now rolling out the concept of free trailers in town”, reports Ralf Stolz. The new trailers are available at the local IKEA furniture store. However, a purchase there is not a prerequisite for the rental.
The German sharing economy still has a lot of potential
The figures from Statista show that 84 percent of all Germans can imagine the future of the sharing economy on the mobility sector to make use of. 67 percent are already doing this today. Theresia Theurl, professor at the University of Münster, emphasizes the great potential for environmentally friendly solutions based on the sharing economy: “As in many economies, digital business models in Germany are increasing with the digitization of value chains and customer interfaces. Platforms for information, initiation and processing of transactions will become increasingly important, but at different speeds in the respective economic sectors“, says Theresia Theurl.
She emphasizes that young people in particular are very interested in sustainability. Therefore, much importance is attached to the interest of companies to offer customers and consumers sharing economy solutions: "Cooperation agreements between companies from different economic sectors are of increasing importance. Involved in technological, economic and social changes, younger members of society in particular are discussing the social responsibility of companies that goes beyond individual economic interests. The focus is on ecological and social aspects".
Strong cooperation partners
Freetrailer works with retailers and DIY stores in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Further similar agreements are also to be made with German companies. "Our clear mission is to make our concept with trailers and e-cargo bikes accessible to even more German citizens. This is done through an extensive network of strong cooperation partners who make our products available to their customers free of charge. And with a presence in 37 German cities, with all locations now being close to an IKEA furniture store, we are fortunately on the right track' says Ralf Stolz happily.
In his opinion, the potential in Germany is simply gigantic: "We have found that many Germans would rather borrow and rent than own, so the options are endless. We estimate that in the future we will offer 20.000 products that are freely accessible at hardware stores, electronics stores and furniture stores, for example".
