Rocket Bunny / Pandem - typical Japanese tuning

Rocket Bunny is a manufacturer of Japanese body kits. The autotuning parts are known for their characteristically broad style, which thanks to Need for Speed and similar titles has blossomed into a worldwide success. The characteristic feature of the Rocket Bunny tuning parts are so-called "bolt-on offenders", which means something like "riveted fender attachments". The parts are attached to the car body with rivets. In contrast to classic body kits, Rocket Bunny shines with its rough, patchy looks. The car appears particularly coarse and wide. The design of the elements is mostly based on the original shape of the body. It is based on the vehicle design and is characterized by less playful details.

the attachment is no secret

Tuners can optionally screw the kits inconspicuously or attach with rivets. In case of damage screwed parts can be exchanged more easily. The mudguards of the original body often need to be trimmed at one edge to make room for the wide tires. When autotuning in this case, the body must be re-welded to restore their supporting function. The Rocket Bunny Bodykits almost always consist of the material mix FPR. Here, a nylon component was mixed into the resin, which gives the body parts more flexibility. The kits can be extremely easily adapted to the body shapes of the original components. FPR is also characterized by a high strength.

especially popular with Japanese vehicles

Rocket Bunny Kits are extremely durable and can be adapted almost seamlessly to the original body. Attached fenders are the most important feature of the Rocket Bunny Kits. In combination with changed front and rear aprons, a fluid, beastly look can be achieved. Riveted trunk spoilers and side skirts complete the perfect look. Rocket Bunny has established itself in the tuning market in recent years. The origins of the design can be traced back to racing cars. The riveted assembly of the parts is also not a recent invention: in the past, in Japan, in the so-called “work” style, flared fenders were riveted to the original body kit. The Pandem Rocket Bunny Bodykits are not generally approved in this country and often have to be entered separately via individual acceptance. Currently, more and more BMW E30, E36, E46 and also E92 drivers are tempted to convert.

Very nice article, unfortunately full of mistakes! Unfortunately, the most important thing has been forgotten to mention: There is only one real source of supply for TRA Kyoto Kits in Europe, that is Tofugarage from Stolberg/Rheinland near Aachen as general importer and a few partner companies licensed by Tofugarage. They have also drawn up all the necessary expert opinions for the legalization and the corresponding expert contacts.

One should warn against all fakes and copies that are offered from European or Chinese production. The reason lies in the material used in particular: the FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) material from Japan is superior to all other materials: fit, surface appearance and, above all, durable, flexible material that neither breaks out nor becomes brittle, like the GRP of cheap copies. These are good for building drifters, where the attachments are regularly destroyed and the vehicle should look nice from a distance of 10m. The price advantage will be lost for the most part at the latest with the painter if he charges for the time-consuming preparatory work before foiling or painting. And if after a few years the cheap kit is damaged by vibration, UV and heat/cold and has to be renovated at great expense, it costs the same again - without increasing the value of the vehicle. On the other hand, the original kit, which Tofugarage is also happy to assemble for its customers, is cheaper and retains its value.
