Under power! Carbon Ford Bronco Restomod with electric drive

Zero Labs Automotive (Los Angeles / California) took the original Ford Bronco (built from 1966 to 1977) as a model to create a completely electrically powered version. The vehicle is an original Ford Bronco and so this car is a real restomod project. The 40-year-old lead frame of the Ur-Bronco is installed almost unchanged, but now in the condition of a new car. But of course the highlight is the drive. The electrified off-roader now has a 275 kW (366PS) electric motor on board for its propulsion, which draws its power from a 70 kWh lithium ion battery. The range should currently be a maximum of 305 kilometers. A gentle driving style is required.

By the way, it is shifted very traditionally with a manual 5-speed manual transmission. There is also a two-stage reduction and the four-wheel drive can be activated. A Brembo six-piston brake system ensures a deceleration appropriate to the status and the chassis is based on an individually adjustable FOX coilover suspension. And the body is also completely new. Here, a steel structure and body panels are built that are made entirely of carbon fiber laminate. This saves weight and also contributes to a good range. Many small details such as the LED daytime running lights, the modern lens headlights and the cool rear lights in old school style complete the visual appearance.

the style of the past years is preserved

And the cabin is also completely new. Here you can choose from walnut or bamboo applications and leather or vegan materials are available for the seats and door trim. Another eye-catcher is the digital cockpit, which picks up on the nostalgic look of the dials, but combines everything with modern telematics. Zero Labs Automotive initially wants to build only 150 vehicles of the Electric Classic Ford Bronco and then decide whether another swing should follow.
