Changan has a veritable flood of models to offer on the Chinese market, as it is not for nothing that it is the third largest car manufacturer in the Middle Kingdom, which sells over a million vehicles per year. The new Changan CS75 Plus looks pretty bold and looks great, because the huge air intakes, the narrow headlights, which are pinched like eagle eyes, and the large Lexus-style grill definitely attract attention on the street, and if you compare it with a staid VW Tiguan, it becomes clear how sporty the new China SUV looks at the front.
sporty and extrovert design
From the side, the Changan then looks like a conventional SUV until you can see the taillights that are drawn far into the side, which are even more styled than those of a Lexus IS, but reminiscent of those of the Japanese sedan. At the rear, the show continues, because the third brake light mounted on the roof spoiler is in Formula 1 style and the four real exhaust pipes, which are not fake exhausts, as unfortunately known by many manufacturers today, ensure you Wow effect on the already sporty and stylish SUV. As is well known, the details make for a good and sporty design, because the basic shape of an SUV cannot be changed too much, and the scope is very small.
Motors completely sufficient for the 1,6-tonner
The 4,70m long, 1,87m wide and 1,71m high SUV is powered by a 1,5 liter direct injection gasoline engine with turbocharging or a 2 liter turbo petrol engine, which also has direct injection. The weaker version delivers 178 HP and 265 Newton meters of maximum torque, while the stronger version brings it to 233 HP and 360 Newton meters. The 2-liter turbo catapults the 1,6-tonner from 7,5 to 0 km / h in a very good 100 seconds and the propulsion only ends at 222 km / h. Equipped in this way, the new Changan CS75 Plus, which only has front-wheel drive, can also annoy a Porsche Cayenne Diesel on the highway a little.
Equipment at a high level
Just like the larger SUV coupé brother, the CS85 Coupé, the top version of the CS75 Plus is excellently equipped and not only has ESP, tire pressure control and a complete airbag set, but also an intelligent traffic jam assistant, which can be stopped and go-traffic can brake and accelerate independently, an intelligent cruise control system with automatic distance control, an automatic parking assistant and in the sportiest engine variant a red leather interior, which should underline the dynamic profile of the new SUV once again.
veritable competitor for established premium SUVs
Above all, with the larger turbo petrol engine, which produces 233 hp, the China SUV has become a veritable opponent for the European premium competition. In my opinion, the smaller engine variant makes no sense at all, since the smaller engine does not match the character of the vehicle. In terms of price, the new CS75 Plus sorts at around 30.000 euros including import costs, if you should consider bringing such a vehicle to Germany.
