A classic mini with Electric drive? It's not all that new! We know about BMW, RechargedHeritage and also from Electrogenic for a long time, that can work! and David Brown Automotive, a British manufacturer of small series vehicles, is now also involved and is presenting the Mini eMastered. Since its founding in 2010, David Brown Automotive has worked with the Marshall and the Oselli Edition already introduced cool minis. There is also that Speedback, a Gran Turismo based on the Jaguar XKR. The Mini eMastered builds on the successes and promises “British craftsmanship at the highest level, combined with a timeless retro design and an efficient electric drive“. Despite the tiny dimensions of just 3,05 meters long and just under 1,36 meters high, the engineers were able to create one 18,8-kWh battery accommodate.

The battery is sufficient for a range of 177 kilometers according to WLTP standards. And thanks to an empty weight of just 640 kg The Mini eMastered is just as light as the original, which weighed between 617 and 737 kilograms depending on the version. By the way, a Zonic 70 engine takes care of it 72 kW and 175 Nm torque for the necessary boost.

This means the Mini accelerates in around 8,5 Seconds to 100 km/h and achieves one in sport mode Top speed of 150 things. The drive takes place on the front axle, and the charging connection is cleverly located at the position of the fuel filler neck. With a Charging power of up to 6,6 kW AC is the battery in only three hours fully loaded. In Germany the loading time is due to the Unbalanced load regulation but it could easily be two hours more. Every copy of the Mini eMastered will of course be in manual work manufactured. The classic design is retained on the outside, and the retro charm remains in the interior with a wooden steering wheel, traditional leather seats and gear stick.

But the infotainment has now also been modernized Apple CarPlay and Android Auto supports. Customers can also customize the materials and equipment according to their ideas. But quality has its price: the starting price is 125.000 pounds without VAT (approx. 144.000 EUR) and delivery. So if you are interested, you should have around EUR 170.000 available including all costs. Sorry, but us is missing there is definitely proportionality!
