Vintage cars are still exempt from the increasingly stringent emission regulations. But the moreold vehicles“ are preserved, the more politics will deal with the topic in the future. If you want to be on the safe side, you are looking for an alternative to the combustion engine that is installed under the hood of the classic. And that can be done with a conversion to Electric mod realize. There are already some conversion kits for this, because the current topic is "Conversion from classic car to electric vehicle“ Absolutely trendy. And many even make it possible for the removal of the combustion engine and the replacement with an electric motor plus battery pack to be reversed at any time. We actually find that a halfway reasonable alternative due to the currently imposed e-craze.

Electrogenic (British company) specializes in this and converts electric cars based on classics using "drop-in" conversion kits. This happens under the new division "Powered by Electrogenic". The easy-to-install kits are currently available worldwide for the Land Rover Defender, Jaguar E-Type and the classic Porsche 911 are available through an international network of exclusive installation partners. The EV conversion kits are based on Electrogenic EV technology, as are the individual ones complete conversions of the company, which of course will continue to exist. If the kit is installed, the user can even choose the driving mode using the Sport, Eco and Traffic modes as well as a regenerative downhill function (for the Defender). The drop-in kits are model-specific and retain the vehicle's structure and architecture. This ensures that e-conversions with electrogenic kits are completely reversible.

for the Land Rover Defender

The conversion kits for the Land Rover off-roader are available for the classic Defender 90, 110 and 127 models with three battery-motor combinations. The entry-level E62 kit consists of a 62 kWh battery coupled to a 120 kW electric motor and provides a range of around 120 miles (193 km). Above that are the E70 and E93 versions with a 150 kW motor and a 70 kWh or 93 kWh battery. They enable a range of 130 (209) and 150 miles (241 km).

for the Jaguar E Type

Electrogenic also has several e-conversion kits in its range for the Jaguar E-Type. They contain either a 43 kWh battery with a 120 kW motor for a range of up to 150 miles (approx. 241 km) or a 62 kWh battery and also a 120 kW motor and a range of approx. 320 km (200 miles). There's even a Sport variant with a 48kWh battery and 150kW electric motor, which Electrogenic says will propel the E-Type from 0-60mph (0-96km/h) in under five seconds and has a range of approximately 267 km (160 miles).

for the Porsche 911

And for the Porsche 911, the range is even more comprehensive. There are two different conversion kits that are compatible with the G body or the 911 of the 964 series. The 911 can also be supplied with the most powerful kit in Electrogenic's range, with a 240 kW motor that allows it to accelerate from 3,8 to 0 mph in 60 seconds. Incidentally, regardless of the model or battery capacity, all variants can be charged at an AC socket with up to 6,6 kW, whereby DC fast charging is also possible.
