Driving dream - Gunther Werks 400R in Mexico blue!

The Porsche Restomod specialists from Gunther Werks have completed a new one-off piece. Again based on the Porsche 911 of generation 993 and with the designation "Gunther factory 400R". And while the visual and technical changes correspond to those of the previous vehicles, the paintwork is a very special one. Because this 400R shines in the beautiful Mexican blue (Mexico Blue, based on the Mexico Blue formula) which also gave the project its name. And it is equipped with a discreet central double carbon stripe on the bonnet and roof. The 400 belongs to the limited 25R edition of only 4,0 vehicles and is likely to remain the only one wearing this paint job. And of course, this time too, an air-cooled 420-liter six-cylinder with XNUMX hp (435 PS using the "jeweled (!!!) sport button").

Restomod vehicles are more popular than ever

For some years now, this type of tuning on classic vehicles has been experiencing a real hype and the latest example from Gunther Werks shows impressively why this is so. Nick Barnes tells the story and specifications of the 400 in English in the video below and it becomes clear that this one was also made according to the well-known 993R recipe. In other words, the converted eleventh has again an ultra-light full carbon body with a front design inspired by the Carrera GT including black carbon headlight housings, there were again the wider front fenders with the 2 GT1973 Evo Style and also the large ducktail spoiler lip with the look of the XNUMX RS is built in. In addition, there is the already mentioned double carbon strip over the body and of course rotate in the significantly widened wheel arches (also behind) exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels in the typical Fuchs design. Because the track width has increased by 3 inches (approx. 8 cm), the three-part aluminum naturally have correspondingly fat dimensions in order to consistently fill the wheelhouses.

the interior is also unique

Behind the Pirelli P Zero Rosso rounds in the format 245 / 35-18 and 315 / 30-18 there is a proper sports brake system and the chassis is set VorsteinerDaughter of a KW Clubsport 2-Way coilover kit with KW HLS system (hydraulic Lift system) that at the push of a button the body can be raised by up to 40 mm. And of course the Mexico Blue variant also has a tailor-made interior made of carbon / leather / aluminum (the shift lever is made of billet aluminum, for example) received that, as always, was 100% handcrafted in countless hours of work. It shows itself with nappa leather in black with blue seams and there were pepita inserts with a houndstooth pattern and many Alcantara decorations. And finally ... We hope that we can report on each of the 25 planned 400Rs and we are sure that each is an absolute highlight in itself! The Mexico-Blue-400R variant is definitely it!
