Wolf in wolf's clothing - Legacy Overland Mercedes G-Class!

The "wolf" is cult! The famous pack animal on wheels comes from Germany and is known to be based on the Mercedes G-Class. And the classic has been faithfully serving in the Bundeswehr for decades. As a military vehicle, it is an off-road vehicle from the "wheeled vehicles" category and a special development of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The Wolf is still available as a Serval transport vehicle and the two armored versions KSK and Enok. The Legacy Overland team has now got their hands on one of the classics and has completely rebuilt it. You can't go wrong with this G-Class for exploring nature. Incidentally, the conversion is a so-called restomod project, which means that countless modern components were used. The Connecticut-based company has breathed new life into the former Army G-Wagen and completely overhauled the 461.4-liter in-line five-cylinder diesel (MKB OM2,5) in addition to the body of the W602. It develops 68 kW / 92 hp at 4.600 rpm. and a max. Torque of 158 Nm at 2.200-3.100 rpm.

with five-speed manual transmission

It is linked to a five-speed manual transmission that uses first gear as a creep gear. A two-speed transfer case and manually lockable differentials front and rear are also installed. So there should be no stopping off paved slopes. Legacy Overland optimized the drive train with an improved Bilstein chassis and the special detail work can be seen all around, for example with the elaborately galvanized brackets, screws and nuts. The body received a glossy paint job in boxwood green and black Metal apron as well as the roll bar all around. And only at second glance is the fact that, for example, the main headlights are equipped with state-of-the-art LED technology and the taillights also have the LED function.

7 × 16 inch steel wheels in black

With a new mohair hood made of angora wool (both as a soft top and a bikini top) and 7 × 16 inch steel wheels with 265/75 R16 Cooper Adventurer STT Pro tires, the changes are successfully rounded off on the outside. And the restored cabin has changed no less extensively. There was a hand-made leather interior in black and brown with cream-colored seams and many small details such as custom-made leather cup holders, new floor mats and a new instrument cluster. Even an air conditioning system is now installed and further luxuries such as a Bluetooth-capable Pioneer MVH-S310BT sound system with four speakers and the cabin is even lined with Dynamat sound insulation. The result as a Legacy Overland Mercedes G-Class is absolutely convincing, as our gallery at the end of the article and the following video prove. If we receive information on further changes in a timely manner, there will of course be an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
