Reading time 3 Min.

The Eurobike in Frankfurt, the most important trade fair for bicycles and e-bikes, was again a good opportunity for manufacturers to present their latest and most innovative products. This year was no exception and the trade fair was once again all about urban and future mobility. The manufacturer presented a particularly eye-catching model this year Urtopia before that "Fusion“ E-bike that relies on an extraordinarily futuristic design and thus attracted everyone’s attention. The fusion e-bike was created by the German designer Hartmut Esslinger and primarily stands out due to its bright and colorful design. Urtopia sells the Fusion in the different color combinations grey-white-orange, orange-yellow and orange-red. The frame consists of Carbon, which means that the bike only weighs around 20 kilograms in total. It is not only a real eye-catcher, but also a lightweight companion for urban areas.

Large 28-inch tires of the "Big Apple" type from Schwalbe ensure comfort and stability on any surface. Instead of a conventional bicycle chain, the Urtopia uses one Belts made of polyurethane, reinforced with carbon fibers. This should be particularly durable and perfect for all road conditions - be it mud, sand, snow or ice. Front and rear also provide Magura MT4 eStop disc brakes for more security. The Fusion is designed for users with a height of 160 to 190 cm and offers a high level of comfort thanks to its low entry. It is powered by a Bafang mid-engine 250 watts, performance and 90 Nm torque. Thanks to a 360 Wh battery, Urtopia promises a range of just under 90 kilometers. An additional battery, which will be available as an option, can even increase this range 180 km expand.

And another eye-catcher is the "Smart Bar" with matrix LED display, on which the speed, power level and battery level can be read. An app connection, an integrated front light and a 4G SIM with GPS function complete the high-tech package. Incidentally, the battery can only be 2,5h fully charge, but there is no information on the charging capacity yet. It is still unclear when the Urtopia Fusion will come onto the market. The bike will probably be priced between €3.500 and €4.000. However, some aspects of the design or technology could change before the release, because the bike from the fair was only a prototype.
