Vandenbrink Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Shooting Brake (V12)

From 2004 to 2010, the 612 Scaglietti from Ferrari has not yet been thought of as a practical station wagon. Only in the year 2011 came then the fancy FF (Ferrari Four) with four seats, four-wheel drive and a shooting-brake-tail, apart from the idiosyncratic Ferrari 250 GT Bread Van based on the 250 GT Berlinetta SWB, for the first time combined something of practical use with pure performance in a Ferrari. And the FF was quite a success and so has Ferrari with the GTC4Lusso impressively refilled in the year 2016. And now comes another model. Although not officially by Ferrari but by the Dutch company Vandenbrink Design (Owner: Michiel van den Brink and Robert Koumans), optically but in no case worse.

the design sketch from 2008

The basis is the above-mentioned 612 Scaglietti which was intended by Pininfarina actually as a classic drawn Gran Turismo coupe. Actually…! Because now you can join Classic Youngtimers Consultancy in the Dutch Uden the seemingly single Vandenbrink 612 Shooting Brake on Scaglietti base to buy. The idea had Vandenbrink already in the year 2008 where also the first design sketches result. And to finally prove that this is not just a theory, old- and young-timer dealer Maurik van den Heuvel has now put his 2005-built vehicle on sale. The changes to the 612 start from the B-pillar. The strikingly curved design of the shoulder line over the rear wheel arches has been retained, but everything is new.

the C-pillar takes some getting used to

There was a very distinctive roof with elongated glass insert on the right and left and sloping roof line, however, rises again in the back and ends in a shapely roof spoiler. The rear side window gets a bit sharper towards the end and the big C-pillar is very eye-catching. Here Vandenbrink tries to distract from the massive architectural style by means of horizontal and diagonal light edges, which is only partially successful. Maybe this would be a larger window such as the QWest Norfolk Tesla Model S Estate or that of RemetzCar rather an alternative. Viewed directly from the rear, the rear convinced with the narrow rear window and wiper. And until the windscreen, the tailgate seems almost unchanged. In the interior, apart from the fact that you can now look directly into the luggage compartment, almost nothing has been done. Why? After all, the Italian comes from the factory already with four seats.

Trunk completely lined with leather

So you only lined the luggage compartment with leather and reinforced the seats with a massive cross strut that is completely wrapped in leather. Incidentally, the technology of the Vandenbrink Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Shooting Brake seems to be in production. And the Vandenbrink now 612 rebuilds is also fixed. Thus it does not remain with this single piece. Incidentally, the price is still known: this copy should cost 29.000 € 300.000 with about 75.000 kilometers on the clock. That's about 4 € more than a brand new GTCXNUMXLusso. Not bad… If we receive timely information on any changed technology there is of course as always an update for this report.
