This African off-road caravan is as airy as a tent and yet as comfortable as a home on wheels - the Rambler-X from Africa. It is a well-known fact that motorhomes can heat up quickly during the extremely hot summer months. But the Rambler-X, brought to you by the Freelander forge, has a pleasant surprise in store - and quite it without air conditioning. The Rambler-X features a unique lifting roof and a highly original bed in the form of a pop-up tent over the drawbar. These openings in the roof and bow create a pleasant air circulation. And when you lie in bed, you even have a fantastic panoramic view. The trailer is made for expeditions into the wild nature. With an Alko heavy-duty axle and rubber suspension, the Rambler-X is designed for a gross vehicle weight of 1.650 kilograms. It is 5,77 meters long, 1,97 meters wide and 2,34 meters high with the roof closed. With the roof open, it reaches a height of 2,70 meters. So enough space to stand comfortably in it.

In the rear there is also a spacious seating area with two longitudinal benches, which can be converted into a double bed or two single beds at night. Four people can travel comfortably in the compact camper. Built for outdoor living, the Rambler-X also has a kitchenette in a compartment under the bed that simply pulls out for use. It includes a two-burner gas cooker, a rinsing tub with drip tray and an optional 80-litre compressor cool box. Protected under the awning, you can cook wonderfully here in sunshine and light rain. The Rambler-X also features two opposite body doors, one of which serves as access to the outdoor bathroom. The shower head and storage space for shower gel and shampoo are hidden behind folding doors, and the washbasin is housed in a fold-out shelf that can be folded up again when not in use. A small awning can also be set up for more privacy, then there is still space for a Porta Potti camping toilet.
many clever details in the Rambler-X
And there is also enough storage space. There is a wardrobe next to the door and there are many small zipped compartments throughout the vehicle. And you can supposedly even transport mountain bikes through the two doors or a surfboard through the roof hatch. Incidentally, the African Rambler-X is sold by the Leefek company through the German company Freelander Schmiede. They are relatively new to the market and the Rambler-X has only been available in Germany for a short time. The price is €36.200. The Rambler-X presents itself with a fascinating living concept and promises an intense outdoor experience, but at the expense of some privacy. So for the typical camping holiday at a conventional campsite, the Rambler-X might not be the first choice. But if you go on a journey of discovery with it and want to enjoy the great outdoors, you will find it the ideal companion.
