Can you give a classic 1960s Chevrolet Impala a Airride chassis miss? Why not! This noble impala (second generation) was a typical barn find and was lovingly and extremely extensively restauriert and modified. Completely in black and chrome, the vehicle is now absolutely unique. And in the course of the conversion, an attempt was made to retain most of the original elements, but at the same time give the vehicle a modern touch. The paintwork is called Tuxedo Black and it is an original Chevrolet color for the Impala. There is also a lot of chrome on the front and rear and the window frames also shine in chrome. And the beautiful Raceline wheel set in 20 and 22 inches with Nitto tires is also chrome-plated.
Chevrolet Impala with Airride
Countless small details such as the chrome-plated Chevrolet badge on the front and rear, the lettering with the name of the car manufacturer on the hood and of course the fighter jet-inspired decorations on the side panels round off the sparkling ornamentation. And under the hood? There sits a 348ci engine (5,7 literV8), which also shines with a combination of black, chrome and red. And the engine has even been extensively revised.
An Edelbrock double quad intake is installed, there were new aluminum heads and one Sports exhaust. Although it is unclear how much power the V8 produces, a maximum of up to 280 hp was possible with this engine at the time. Incidentally, the engine is coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission and a GM rear axle, and the load is braked using a Wilwood sports brake system. The real highlight, however, is the air suspension (Airride), which allows the vehicle to be raised or lowered as required. And it doesn't matter whether it's up or down, both look really cool.
Leather, leather, leather as far as the eye can see
And then there is the interior. Tons of red leather is evident throughout the vehicle, found everywhere except for the lower part of the dashboard. There is a sporty, small steering wheel, there are displays from Classic Instruments and even a new one Air conditioning as well as a traditional Impala radio can be seen. On the other hand, there is no infotainment. The Impala is currently for sale through the North Carolina-based company RK Motors at the price of $169.900.
