The Lunaz Design team has some news again. The company specializes in British classic cars Electric mod to convert And Lunaz's latest creation is a converted 2 Bentley S1961 Continental, which is now a zero-emission luxury liner. According to Lunaz, the vehicle is one of only four in existence with James Young bodywork. Back then it was still possible to buy a rolling chassis from the car manufacturer and then ship the vehicle to a coachbuilder for a specific body. And James Young gave the Continental distinctive fenders and a body with two doors. At that time, the thick ship was powered by a 6,2-liter V8 and this was attached to an automatic transmission.

The Lunaz conversion replaces the V8 with an electric motor with an output of 400 hp (298 kW) and a torque of 720 Newton meters. Lunaz states that the British luxury liner with the E-Power reaches highway speeds in just 6,9 seconds. In addition to the new drive train, Lunaz also relies on a fully adjustable chassis that can even be adjusted from the interior. And of course the brake system is also adapted to the performance. Modern disc brakes were installed all around, with a 6-piston brake system being used at the front and one with 4-piston stoppers at the rear.

Incidentally, before the conversion, Lunaz always keeps a complete one restoration through. The vehicle is stripped down to the bare metal and then everything is put back together. In addition, sustainable materials are used in the cabin, such as floor coverings made of regenerated nylon fibers and leather tanned from olive leaves. The wood decorative strips are also certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council. And if you scroll a little deeper, you'll find that this vehicle isn't Lunaz's first electrified Bentley. Two years ago, an S2 Continental Flying Spur from 1961 was converted to electric drive.

other British vehicles are also converted

In 2022, Lunaz also introduced two classic Land Rover Range Rover conversions. One was a convertible inspired by the SUV featured in the 1983 James Bond film Octopussy (see also below) and the other was a long-wheelbase Town model with modern conveniences. At that time, a 1.300-watt sound system was installed, there were heated and cooled drink holders and even a wireless charging pad. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to.
