Stripped Audi R8 with 1.700 hp for the SEMA Auto Show!

Today the SEMA Show ends in Las Vegas and once again there were many crazy vehicles. And while the majority of cars tend to be fitted with "extra" components like a body kit etc., this R8 is completely different. Because he stood with me "fewer" Share than usual at the auto show. Quasi as an Audi R8 kart, or as the big brother of the Ariel Atom, the team from LeeC Parts the 2012 R8 GT completely stripped. But not only that. The R8 also got from Underground racing missed a brutal increase in performance. But first things first. Sometime after 2012 came the power increase, then there was a bad accident, and then LeeC Parts bought the R8 as an accident vehicle. And they wanted to make something special out of it! And that's a success.

Audi R8 with 1.700 hp

At the rear still sits the Underground Racing 5,0-litre, twin-turbocharged V10 producing 1.700PS (running on race fuel), but this is now in plain sight for all to see. In addition, there was already a reinforced gearbox in the course of the UR conversion and the large carbon-ceramic brake system was already installed ex works. However, the R8 body parts are no longer available, apart from the front and rear windows and the roof. Instead, there was a custom-made one tubular frame all around, which even makes it possible for the R8 to continue to be approved for road traffic. And that's exactly why headlights are still there. However, they come from a 2020 Ford Mustang GT in terms of the turn signals and fog lights, and the square LED lights protruding from the front end are even from a semi-truck. At the rear, however, the lighting comes from a trailer.

Rear wheel arch covers from a chopper

There is also an APR carbon fiber splitter up front, there were small carbon mirrors from a Honda S2000 and the rear wheel arch covers are borrowed from a chopper. Instead, the rims and the dashboard are standard R8. Not so the seats. They, in turn, come from Recaro and are apparently even very comfortable for thoroughbred racing seats. Incidentally, the stripped Audi R8 has already taken part in several events and also shown its skills on the drag strip. We hope you enjoy the trailer from That Racing Channel, which impressively shows what the ultra-lightweight super sports car is capable of. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed about this if you simply use our Feed subscribe to.
