1969 Plymouth Road Runner with Hellcat V8 as Sleeper!

This Plymout Road Runner no longer has its standard 440-cubic-inch (7,2-liter) "six pack" under the hood, but the mighty one Hellcat V8 from a Dodge Challenger Hellcat with 707 hp and 881 Nm of torque. That's vastly more horsepower than the 440 and 426 HEMI engines that Road Runner vehicles were sold with back then. The former delivered around 390 hp, while the latter should impress with 425 hp and 664 Nm. But this 69 Road Runner is equipped with a modern V50 a good 8 years later and there was also a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox (with pistol grip shifter). In addition, a powerful sports brake system all around and a MagnaflowSports exhaust system for a befitting soundscape.

Modern displays in the cabin as well as a Cruise Control round out the equipment you certainly wouldn't find on a stock 1969 muscle car. Visually, the Road Runner draws everyone's attention due to the eye-catching color combination, but the set-up is not really intrusive. It is painted Rally Green, which is a rare Spring 1969 High Impact Plymouth colour. There was also a white roof and the white interior matches that. Even the color-matched steel wheels and bold black stripes on the hood match. And while the conversion looks stock at first glance, the Road Runner has received a few small touches that set it apart from the stock.

subtle details on the body

The white stripes on the side end in a small "Hellcat" logo and a subtle "SRT" badge can be seen on the trunk lid. Up front, one of the four headlights serves as an air intake, just like the Challenger Hellcat, and some of the moldings from back then are gone all around. The rest is best seen in the video.
