Mercedes-AMG GLC (2023): 680 hp power package with PHEV technology!

The Mercedes Benz GLC family is growing: Here are the muscular AMG variants, the AMG 43 4Matic and the AMG 63 SE Performance. These will enter the arena in the coming months, with even more power than their predecessors - and (unfortunately) without the V6 or V8 din. For those who like it a little softer, this is the AMG 43 4Matic exactly the right thing: being 2,0-liter four-cylinder supplies 421 PS and 500 Nm and is used by one mild hybrid system supported, which temporarily provides an additional 14 hp and 150 Nm. Thanks to the electric turbocharger, a technology from Formula 1 that works at up to 175.000 revolutions per minute, the GLC 43 AMG 4Matic sprints in just 4,8 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h.

Mercedes AMG GLC 43 & 63

The AMG 63 SE Performance is the crowning glory of the GLC series. The well-known M139 engine does a proud job here 476 PS & 545 Nm, and combined with a 6,1 kWh battery and a 204 PS powerful electric motor in the rear results in an overall performance of impressive 680 hp & 1.020 Nm. With the power, the GLC sprints to 100 clothes in just 3,5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 275 km/h to reach. The electric mode allows a range of 12 km and the battery can be charged with up to 3,7kW AC power to be charged. Both have them AMG Dynamic Select driving modes installed (five for the 43 and eight for the 63) that adjust the handling at the touch of a button by changing parameters such as ESP, steering response and suspension stiffness in real time.

This is also part of the equipment AMG Ride Control suspension with adaptive dampers that can be individually adjusted in the three modes Comfort, Sport and Sport +. However, only the 63 SE Performance has this Active ride control, a clever system of stabilizers and electronic actuators that stabilizes the GLC when cornering and reduces body roll. And the steerable rear wheels also contribute to better cornering. You can up to 2,5° steer in the opposite direction up to a speed of 100 km/h (0,7° in the opposite direction at higher speeds). Furthermore, there is Bremsanlage the 43 consists of discs with a diameter of 370 mm at the front and 360 mm at the rear, while the 63 has 390 mm at the front and 370 mm at the rear.

Aggressive aesthetics & high quality interior

And of course the two AMG's have an individual one in addition to the technical revision optics included. Both score with a specific Grille design, bigger air intakes and a particularly aggressive one Splitter. There is also a large one at the rear diffuser, into which the two exhaust pipes (round for the 43, trapezoidal for the 63) are integrated. In the interior, the AMG-GLC's stand out Seats with Arctic leather and Microcut AMG microfiber covers. are optional nappa and AMG performance seats available. In the 43 series, the AMG performance steering wheel is also in nappa leather, in the 63 series in nappa leather and with microcut microfiber.

And the MBUX infotainment system presents a range of AMG-specific visuals, while the instrument cluster boasts sportier graphics displaying the various settings for the engine, steering and chassis. The 63 also has standard (and the 43 optional) the AMG track pace, a kind of virtual racing coach that records over 80 track parameters such as speed, acceleration and steering angle, provides lap and sector times and gives tips for improvement.
