Offroad Event: The Spirit of Amarok

Already the 13. Year in a row, the automaker VW will be his again this year Host the Spirit of Amarok Challenge. This is the ultimate off-road adventure! Everything is demanded of both the mobile vehicle and the driver. The great thing about this event? You don't have to be a professional racing driver to take part here! Because this challenge is aimed exclusively at amateur drivers. Of course, the applicants have to demonstrate a lot of skill and ability so that victory is within reach.
This exciting challenge will be even bigger this year, because for the first time in the history of the Spirit of Amarok, European teams will also take part. Anyone who has always dreamed of jetting through the African terrain with one of the fastest pickups should quickly find a partner and then apply as a team. For the application two people and a groovy team name are absolutely necessary. The deadline for the application decision was set on March 12th.

Training & Challenge
So that all applicants can familiarize themselves with the new VW Amarok V6, a training day will take place on May 5 at Mammutpark Stadtoldendorf. Here you can get important professional tips regarding driving style and safety off-road. The instructors also familiarize you with the technical characteristics of the car. This is particularly important in the event of technical defects or the tire change challenge.
The 4 × 4 off-road fun really starts the next day. Because here it's time to get behind the wheel and get out on the track. The first challenge is a technically extremely demanding trial section. If you cross the finish line unscathed, you will have to change your bike for a while, followed by a rally sprint course.
To be able to compete in the final, the challenges in Germany must first be overcome.

The final
Once you have passed the first challenge in Germany at home and have been named the winner, you will compete as Team Europe in the final. The venue is in the South African desert of Kalahari. If there is still a second in the heat of the moment to look at the landscape for a moment, it will impress you with its beauty.
In the next moment, your eyes should be again on the rough terrain through which you have to tirelessly clear your way. After all, you fight against 18 strong teams, who also want to win.
Whoever crosses the finish line first in Africa can rightly call himself “the best international 4 × 4 amateur off-road driver”!

The power
In order to be able to dig through the relentless terrain, the mobile pedestal naturally requires some performance. Thanks to the built-in V6 cylinder TDI engine with a proud three liter displacement, you sit on a powerful 165 kW. Even very steep passages cannot stop the new VW Amarok. To stay on the road safely, the hands remain on the steering wheel. This is ensured by an 8-speed automatic transmission in combination with permanent all-wheel drive.
But downhill, the Amarok remains in control of the situation. The large multi-collision brakes ensure clean handling even during braking. Additional assistance systems take care of even more driving pleasure.
