Limited: 2024 VW Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary Edition en!

The VW Jetta GLI made its US debut in 1984 for those who preferred the GTI's powertrain but wanted a sedan body style rather than a hatchback. And the 2024 GLI 40th Anniversary Edition now comes in a limited edition of 1.984 copies to the US and prices start at $29.235 (from €26.383). The edition will go on sale this summer. The anniversary edition will Gray, white or in Blue offered and own all black accents on the radiator grille, the mirror caps and the rear spoiler. Plus there is red details on the front and the emblems. The special edition also opens 10-spoke 18" rims with black finish and the calipers behind are painted red.

The Interior the edition features cloth seats with asymmetrically embossed areas in the middle and the seats also have a red one piping , and a GLI 40 badge. The two carry on cup holders the GLI logo on the front and a "1984 notice" on the back. A "40" logo is also located on the six o'clock spokes of the steering wheel. However, the GLI anniversary edition receives save Changes in terms of technology. It remains with the turbocharged 2,0-liter four-cylinder, the 228 PS and 350 Nm generated and to a Six-speed manual transmission and an electronic one differential lock is coupled. Optional is a Seven-speed dual clutch transmission available, but this raises the price to EUR 27.092.

The 1984 VW Jetta GLI back then had a 1,8-liter four-cylinder that 90 PS and 136 Nm generated. And the later version with 16-valve engine even increased the power 123 PS from model year 1988. Later there were no GLI models for the third generation of the Jetta in the USA, but VW revived the abbreviation for the fourth series. The VW Jetta GLI, which debuted in the USA in 1984 as a sedan alternative to the GTI hatchback, is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the Jetta GLI 40 Anniversary edition. During the 1984s VW GLI Interestingly enough, there was no GLI for the third generation Jetta in the US with a 1,8-liter four-cylinder delivering 90 hp.
