In addition to the 3er, the 5er range arranged above this is definitely the most important vehicle in the BMW range. Hard to believe, but about 7,9 million copies are built since the first 5er, and only the latest generation F10 / F11 is a whopping 2,2 million times on the road. And we are sure that the current generation G30 / G31 will continue this trend. One of them is the 540i which comes with three-liter six-cylinder, twin-scroll turbochargers, 340 PS and maximum torque of 540 Nm. Combined with a perfect eight-step Steptronic accelerates the all-wheel drive in just 4,8 seconds at 100 km / h (rear-wheel drive 5,1 Sec.) And is gently braked electronically at 250 km / h. Values that still a few years ago E60 M5 handed in!
And just such a copy was now on site at the Chinese tuner EDO Tuning and was extensively but subtly modified. The body was equipped with a carbon body kit from M Performance and 3D Design, which particularly attracts attention with the carbon fiber surface. The front spoiler and the approaches for the side skirts come directly from the optional M performance accessories from BMW and at the spoiler lip for the tailgate one decided for the manufacturer 3D design, And also a new wheelset has been installed and here there were 20 inches big HRE P104 forged wheels with Michelin tires.
The wheel set comes with a copper-colored / golden surface and thus sets a skilful accent to the black finish. So that the new rims sit optimally in the wheel arch and the 5er receives a little more sportiness, there was a coilover suspension of the 3 variant from KW Suspensions. Rounding out the project with a sports exhaust system including blue-burned tailpipes in M5 optics whose manufacturer, however, is unknown to us.
In our opinion a perfectly modified 5er too with tuning the crucial understatement it needs in this class keeps. Of course, if we get more details about the changes, there is, as always, an update for this report.
