For fans of Chevy restomods and Evel Knievel, Shawn from AutotopiaLA recently presented a real eye-catcher on YouTube: a lovingly restored Chevy Bel Air from 1955. The beauty was created by Tony Gomez and his team Lakeside Customs built as a tribute to the world's greatest stuntman, Evel Knievel. Lakeside has completely dismantled the vehicle and partially redesigned it, and the result, which is only a few weeks old, is impressive. With a red, blue, white and gold livery, the Chevy hits the mark. But it's not just the paintwork that impresses with the Restomod. Under the hood is a 712-cubic-inch Merlin V8 with no exposed wiring to be seen. The engine is rated for an impressive 1.111 horsepower and is fitted with 2¼" Dart Big Chief cylinder heads, Kinsler fuel injection and a 3" stainless steel exhaust.
dreamlike Chevrolet Bel Air Restomod
In order to get the whole thing on the road, a TCI Turbo 400 transmission was installed and no compromises were made when choosing the chassis either: A ball independent wheel suspension at the rear and ball components at the front were installed. A Strange Engineering Ford 9-inch tail and a Ridetech Shockwave Air Ride system were also installed. The whole thing sits on a Morrison chassis with ball suspension components. Shawn presents more details of the impressive restomod in his YouTube video. A definite eye-catcher for any classic car lover and stunt enthusiast.
