Restomod dream: 1974 Chevrolet C10 pickup with LT1 power!

In the world of Restomods this one has 1974 Chevrolet C10 Pickup with LT1 from the tuner Roadster Shop from Mundelein, Illinois, a special position. Externally, the pickup from 74 looks like a classic workhorse from the third generation of the well-known Chevy C/K series. But that belies the hidden power that lies beneath the hood. But first a little history: The year 1974 was a turning point for the C/K pickup. New design features such as a revised front section with a different radiator grille and new indicators in orange were reactions to the new regulations at the time. And the decades-old features can still be found in the Restomod version of the C10 again, at least externally.

A technological sensation is hidden under the hood of the inconspicuous pickup: a modern one 6.2-liter GM LT1 V8, taken from a C7 Corvette Stingray, provides propulsion. The replacement of the standard, and unfortunately clearly outdated, engine with the new power package, combined with forged ones Crankshafts, forged Connecting rods and light Aluminum flask, takes the C10's performance to a whole new level. The engine is already performing powerfully 455 PS in the series version and in this case certainly to the 500. The engine is coupled to a GM 8L90E eight-speed automatic transmission and the conversion also got a special one locking differential missed, which guarantees a durable and robust set-up.

Suspension, brakes etc., everything new

The harmonious coordination of all the components was achieved by a specially developed Legend Series Custom Chassis from Roadster Shop makes this possible with adjustable Fox 2.5 Factory Series shock absorbers in combination with 13 inch (approx. 33 cm) large Brake discs a Chevrolet Silverado was combined. The '74 Chevy C10 presents itself as Restomod, which clearly stands out from its peers. While other converted trucks often show no trace of their actual origin, this vehicle manages to preserve tradition and with latest technology to inspire. The inconspicuous, yet powerful pickup is likely to be a highlight, especially for purists at trade fairs.
