The 458 Special is rightly considered one of the best super sports cars from the Italian car manufacturer. Equipped with a famous V8 sucker, it is not only fast, rough and blessed with a fantastic soundscape, it is actually really well made. But no car is perfect, and neither is the Speciale. Because a small point of criticism is the fact that it was never offered with a manual gearbox. But now a company called Modified a solution for that. The US company has one Ferrari Speciale 458 presented with a six-speed manual gearbox with a classic H-pattern. And even one gated shifters is in. Although there are no further details on the conversion so far, the photos and videos show that it looks as if Ferrari had installed the manual gearbox.
Ferrari 458 Speciale as a 6-speed manual switch
The shift lever is housed in a newly formed transmission tunnel and sits in the usual position. Three driving modes are also available and it is clad in black Alcantara. A spherical shift knob is in the hand and the open shift mechanism can be seen. The following video shows that the shifter is coupled to a set of special pedals and the combination of the high-revving 4,5-liter V8 and the manual transmission seem to work perfectly together. Unfortunately, it is currently still unclear whether Modificata plans to offer its six-speed conversion kit for the 458 Special included in the offer, or whether the vehicle will remain unique.
Of course, that wasn't the end of it!
