The first generation of the Fiat Panda, which was sold between 1980 and 2003, embodied the principle of "form follows function" like hardly any other vehicle. And of course that doesn't just apply to the "normal" Panda, but also to the 4×4 version. And a well-preserved and recently restored example from 1986 is currently being auctioned in Italy. The Classic is a perfect opportunity to own a small SUV with unmistakable Italian style. However, the company behind the reconstruction is not the team of Garage Italia Customsthat already with the Fiat ICON-E Panda with electric drive showed that even a rolling shoebox can mutate into a real eye-catcher. As far as we know, the vehicle was refurbished by its previous owner himself.
Fiat Panda 4×4 (1986)
The old Fiat Panda was one of the first projects by Italdesign and was created by the pen of Giorgetto Giugiaro and Aldo Mantovani. A particularly simple, robust and practical vehicle that was built a total of 23 million times in the 4,5 years (!!!) of construction. The now offered by CataWiki and restored '86 Fiat Panda 4×4 has been repainted in its factory red color and all unpainted plastic parts have been replaced. This is one of the reasons why the vehicle can almost be compared to a new car. In addition, a sentence Off-road tires to the tiny 13 inches Steel rims pulled and even Rock slider, Bullbar , and a roof rack the little Italian received. Also there was additional lights for even "more sun" in the outback. This guarantees adventure off the beaten track to a manageable extent.
the cabin has also been redesigned
Inside, the seats and dashboard are reupholstered in leather, there was one Surveyor for "more demanding" off-road situations and also a different radio and additional speakers are installed. The well-known 1,0 liter four-cylinder FIRE petrol engine with 49 hp is at work under the bonnet and it is so small that there is even a full-fledged spare wheel in the engine compartment. The power is transmitted to all four wheels thanks to the 4WD system with a short gear ratio in first gear and a rigid rear axle from Steyr-Puch. The restoration includes new suspension, oil seals, filters and various other seals. If you are interested, you can bid until November 24th.
