Can you still remember our report on RENNtech R1 Mercedes-Benz AMG GTs recall? The focus here was of course on the R1 Performance Package, which was made using chip tuning, downpipes with 200 cell catalysts, sports air filters, etc. M 178 DE 40 AL - Biturbo V8 611 PS & 840 NM squeezed torque and thus elicited 101 PS & 190 NM more from the eight-cylinder. And now RENNtech is stepping up and yesterday presented an AMG GT on its website with "R2 Package". The result this time is an impressive 723 PS & 818 NM which is a jump of over 100 PS in terms of horsepower.
Again, there was an in-house chip tuning but beyond even more powerful Stage I turbocharger. The rest is identical to the R1 package, which means that downpipes with 200 cell catalysts, BOV | Blow-Off Valve Adapters or a high-flow BMC sports air filter are partly responsible for the jump in performance. Visually, they held back and just gave the red painted GTs a black / gray stripe with the “RENNtech AMG GT S” badge as well as a subtle lowering and a new set of wheels. The rims are Vossen VPS-306 alloy rims from the Forged Precision Series which are installed in the dimensions 20 × 9 inches on the front axle and huge 21 × 11 inches on the rear axle.
In combination with a finish in Dark Smoke The visual appearance could not be better because especially the red painted brake calipers of the sport brake system with their perforated and slotted brake discs are particularly effective here. - RENNtech stripes in black / gray over the vehicle
- darkened / tinted windows all around
- Performance increase on 723 PS & 818 NM - (R2 Performance Package - Chiptuning, downpipes with 200 cell catalysts, BOV | Blow-Off Valve Adapters, BMC high-flow sports air filter, Stage I turbocharger)
- possibly a sports exhaust system (more information is not available)
- Vossen Wheels alloy wheels (Forged Precision Series, VPS-306, 20 ″ x9.0 ″ | 21 ″ x11.0 ″, Finished in Dark Smoke)
