He is the terror of various Porsche, RS or AMG drivers, the 710 PS strong JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE TRACKHAWK. The strongest Grand Cherokee of all time is now also available in Germany and with 6,2 liter supercharged V8 the absolute King in the ring. The 710 PS and 868 Newton meters in the European model ensure that it only takes 3,7 km / h in just 100 seconds and with 289 km / h top speed, the left lane does not have to be changed as a matter of course. A clear floor below ranked the "normal" Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT with 468 PS & 624 Nm which is anything but weak. And that's exactly what the team from GME / German Motors & Engineering and tries to close the gap to the Trackhawk by a huge increase in performance of the 6.4 V8 SRT.
Main component is a new compressor (Screw compressor with 2,65 liter chamber volume) by the US performance specialists at Edelbrock. The kit comes with triple-core intercooler technology charge air cooling and even has TÜV approval and can therefore be registered without any problems. With just 0,5 bar boost pressure, the V8, in combination with an improved fuel injection system and chip tuning, elicits significant 620 hp and 756 Nm of torque. So that the whole thing is also acoustically reflected, GME installed an in-house sports exhaust system (76 millimeters) with X-Pipe and flap control and two pre and four rear mufflers.
The sports exhaust system with 114 millimeter tailpipes, which are optionally available in carbon or a polished version, becomes visible. The performance plus is sufficient to raise the top speed of the SRT to over 290 km / h and thus to be able to follow the Trackhawk. If money only plays a subordinate role, then GME has an even bigger expansion stage in the pipeline that makes even the Trackhawk look old with 850 or even 1.000 hp. The presentation vehicle was also given a set of sport springs which, in combination with electronically adjustable OEM / Bilstein shock absorbers, allow a lowering of 15 mm at the front and 30 mm at the rear. And a set of new rims was also installed.
Here the decision was made to use in-house forged wheels in the massive 11 × 22 inch format fitted with Continental Sport Contact 6 tires in 295/35ZR22. Optionally, the SRT can also be equipped with 11×20 inch rims. If you look through the spokes of the beautiful aluminum you can see a modified brake system and here you can install an in-house 12 piston system with brake discs in 444 × 36 millimeters for a species-appropriate deceleration.
