It's been a good 3 years since Jaguar announced it with a own department classic Jaguar vehicles Electric drive convert. But with the British company Woodham Mortimer a company comes into play that doesn't really like this idea. They threw out the original six-cylinder and replaced it with a "race-proven" 4,7 liter engine with around 400 hp. And here, too, the aim is to start a small series production for well-heeled customers. As a presentation vehicle, the 400 PS Restomod version of the E-Type was presented as the so-called "WM Sport GT" with origins in 1966. With the noble Brit, the company combines modern technology with the style of the 60s legend and supposedly everything is suitable for everyday use.

Woodham Mortimer mentions that such a conversion brings two people and their luggage from London to St. Tropez "without any problems". Incidentally, the guys from Woodham Mortimer specialize in the Jaguar brand and have so far appeared with various restorations and competition vehicles. The converted copy relies on improved mechanics and the interior as well as various safety features such as seat belts with a retractor mechanism move into the E-Type. And if you look closely, you will also see some differences compared to the original. Woodham Mortimer has subtly widened the body, the over-riders on the bumpers are missing and a bit more chrome can now also be seen.
Engine and brake system from the present
The absolute highlight is, as already mentioned, under the hood. A 4,7-liter six-cylinder engine with electronic ignition provides the propulsion, which sends its power to the rear drive wheels fitted with Avon tires via a five-speed manual transmission built by Woodham Mortimers and a Powerloc limited slip differential. And a contemporary braking system ensures a deceleration that, with ventilated disc brakes and 6-piston calipers on the front axle and 4-piston calipers at the rear, ensures a deceleration at the level of a current athlete. And of course the chassis is also not 60 years old, but convinces with reinforced springs and stabilizers and fully adjustable dampers.

In the cabin, the changes are also relatively subtle, but quite visible. There was a large 3-spoke sports steering wheel with a precious wood wreath (hangs on a power steering) as well as a new pedal set and a leather-covered storage compartment on the floor are now also installed. It goes without saying that such a completely rebuilt vehicle has its price. All vehicles should be made on customer request and depending on the equipment one should expect between 330.000 and 350.000 pounds. In this country that would be a good 370.000 to 390.000 euros.
