Motorsport customers of the KW automotive group on the road to victory: Whether on the circuit, the World Rally Championship or the Dakar Rally. After the successes at the Dakar Rally and the World Rally Championship (WRC) in Monte Carlo, the motorsport customers of the KW automotive group are also convincing on the circuit. At the 24-hour race in Daytona, Porsche motorsport customers won the GTD Pro and GTD classes. Porsche drivers Matt Campbell, Mathieu Jaminet and Felipe Nasr secured the opening win of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in the GTD-Pro class in the Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R (#9) ahead of the Risi Competizione Ferrari. Third place went to the KCMG Porsche 911 GT3 R (#2) with the driver quartet Laurens Vanthoor, Patrick Pilet, Dennis Olsen and Alexandre Imperatori. Other GT3 cars with KW racing dampers included the new BMW M4 GT3 (#25) from BMW Team RLL in seventh place, the Porsche 911 GT3 R (#79) from WeatherTech Racing in eighth place and the second BMW Team RLL BMW M4 GT3 (#24) in ninth place. In the GTD class, the KW customer team Wright Motorsports was the first to cross the finish line in the Porsche 911 GT3 R (#16). The two Porsche 911 GT3 R (#64 and #99) finished seventh and tenth. In the run-up to the 24-hour race, the Porsche customer team RS1 (#28) won the BMW M Endurance Challenge round in Daytona with their Porsche 718 GT4 RS Clubsport.
Circuit, World Rally, Dakar Rally
Whether at the Dakar, the Monte or the 24-hour race last weekend in Daytona, the motorsport customers of the KW automotive group are still on the road to victory. It won't be until spring before things really get going again in Germany. The popular Nürburgring Langrecken series on the Nürburgring Nordschleife will not start until March 2022. But as early as the end of January, the motorsport customers of the KW automotive group are celebrating their first victories and successes. Reiger customers won the Dakar Rally in the 8000-kilometer rally raid through the deserts of Saudi Arabia. Only vehicles with Reiger dampers were in first to sixth place. A similar picture at the start of the World Rally Championship in Monte Carlo. Sébastien Loeb and Isabelle Galmiche won here in the Ford Puma Rally1 (#19). Second went to Sébastien Ogier and Benjamin Veillas in the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 (#1) ahead of Craig Breen and Paul Nagle in the Ford Puma Rally1 (#42). Fourth was Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen in the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 (#69), while fifth was Gus Greensmith and Jonas Andersson in the Ford Puma Rally1 (#44).

The KW automotive group is broadly positioned with its two suspension brands KW suspensions and Reiger Suspensions. “While we here in Fichtenberg concentrate primarily on developments for the circuit, our motorsport applications for off-road use are created by our colleagues at Reiger in the Netherlands. We work closely together and so one or the other rally vehicle has already been on our 7-post vertical driving dynamics test bench," says KW Motorsport Director Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Thomas Rechenberg. For several years, various automobile manufacturers have relied on the developments of KW and Reiger in their customer sport programs and racing events. In long-distance races on the circuit, there are many vehicles in the GT3 and GT4 classifications in various championships, such as the BMW M4 GT3, Porsche 911 GT3 R, Mercedes-AMG GT4, Porsche 718 GT4 RS Clubsport and Toyota GR Supra GT4 with the multiple power adjustable KW Equipped with motorsport dampers. "We are currently developing the dampers for a customer sports car that will appear in 2023 and in 2022 we will be equipping one or the other DTM motorsport team with our dampers for the first time." Automobile manufacturers such as Ford, Subaru and Toyota rely on dampers from Reiger in rallying. At the start of the World Rally Championship, only vehicles with Reiger dampers made it into the top 5.
