RS 3 hunter with 405 hp: the Manhart S 400 based on the Audi S3!

The Audi RS 3 is the top model in the Audi compact class and has been an undisputed compact sports car for many years. With currently at least 400 PS & 500 Nm maximum torque, the all-wheel drive vehicle, which is available as a hot hatch and power sedan, can surprise many competitors who appear superior at first glance. But the S3, which is still located underneath, should by no means be underestimated. This is all the more true after the upgrade by the MANHART Performance Specialists who have expertly exploited the potential of the entry-level sports model of the A3 series. Result is the new one MANHART S 400, based on the popular sedan variant.

The specialists from Wuppertal bring the compact sedan on par with the big RS brother. The turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder in the S3 was fitted with a MANHART intercooler by Wagner, a MANHART-Carbon Air Intake and the proven MANHART ECU remapping significantly optimized in terms of performance. The turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder generates a powerful 405 hp and 515 Nm after the tuning. In addition, as part of the transformation to the S 3, the S400 received a MANHART stainless steel exhaust system by REMUS including flap control. This not only gives it an appropriate sound, but also sets visually successful accents with the two double tailpipes with carbon coating.

MANHART lowering springs by H&R

The look of the S 400 can also be further refined and customized through further modifications. For example, there is chassis tuning using MANHART lowering springs by H&R, which press the S 400 about 30 millimeters lower than the standard S3 towards the asphalt. This ensures a consistent alignment of the new rims in the wheel arches. Keyword rims: The choice fell on the popular MANHART Concave One with a finish in satin black and in the dimensions 8,5 × 19 inches all around. The mounted tires measure 235/35 ZR19. On request, the rims can also be individually configured in any desired color and can be supplied with MANHART rim decoration.

The wheels on the presented S 400 also have the decoration in red and they therefore match the color of the body perfectly, since there is a MANHART decoration set with decorative stripes and lettering - in matt black and red - over the gray paintwork of the limo. Many Manhart customers decide, for a variety of reasons, to also improve the vehicle's braking system. In this case, however, not and the interior of the vehicle is still in the standard condition.
