For some years now, the second most powerful AMG model in the C-Class has also been available as a convertible. The Mercedes-AMG C43 AMG Cabrio (A205) makes in the variant as VorFacelift 367 PS & 520 NM and has now been made by the tuner Domanig car design significantly modified. Incidentally, Mercedes has only recently lifted the coupé and convertible after the sedan and station wagon. The main features are more assistance systems, a screen cockpit and an increase in performance to 390 hp. However, the DOMANIG team has managed to ensure that even the pre-facelift model has more power in the end than the very current version. The “DOMANIG C43S Cabriolet” puts an impressive 435 PS & 630 NM torque on the crankshaft and thus ensures that it goes to 3,9 km / h in just 100 seconds.
The maximum speed of the Stuttgart is also raised and is now electronically limited to 285 km / h. In our opinion, the highlight of the vehicle is the wheel set in combination with many components of the Edition 1. The wheelset had beautiful 3 parts DOMANIG Forged 10 negative spoke rims with a rim star in body color and a polished outer bed. The dimensions of the rims are at the front 9 × 20 inches with 245 / 30 ZR20 Pirelli Nero GT tires and the rear axle got stately 11 × 20 inch slings with 295 / 25 ZR 20 Pirelli Nero GT tires.
The wheel set fits perfectly in the wheel arch and this is thanks to the C43 series riders (Ride Control) in combination with a threaded spring set from KW Automotive. The system allows a lowering by 30-35 mm and receives at the same time all standard suspension settings (Comfort, Sport, Sport +) which the driver can select by pressing a button. And so that the tires do not grind on the fenders during compression, the fenders were subsequently widened without paint work. An eyecatcher that can be recognized by the small slits of the rims is the red painted AMG brake system.
And as already mentioned, the body is equipped with components from the exclusive “Edition 1” special model. At the front there was the front lip with an additional lip in glowing red and the air duct strip also comes from the edition. It continues with side skirts, the rear bumper air outlet cover and the sporty rear diffuser. Small details such as the glossy black lacquered A-pillars or the windows lacquered in the vehicle color, in combination with a DMONANIG C43s lettering on the vehicle, perfectly round off the visual appearance.
And there has also been a small change in the interior because here, the factory steering wheel has been rebuilt to the look of the C63 steering wheel and so the driver now enjoys a Gradsteller in red and a steering wheel with AMG logo.
