One of the highlights from the Mercedes-Benz product range is definitely the Mercedes-AMG GT (internal name C 190) Gran Turismo. The ultimate sports car from Mercedes was presented as a coupé on September 9, 2014, but even 2 1/2 years later, none of its design is getting old or outdated. Last year Mercedes presented the roadster that rounds off the model range. It too celebrated its official public premiere at the Paris Motor Show. After the SLS AMG, the AMG GTS is only the second vehicle ever developed independently by AMG. The motto "A man, an engine"Is thus also implemented in the GTS what does this mean by just one employee, in the AMG plant in Affalterbach, the entire engine is assembled by hand and as proof, there is a corresponding plaque with signature. So actually one would like to think that the GTS brings with it pretty much everything to be close to perfectionism. Actually… The team from "Auto Art" from Illinois (United States) seemed to have a completely different opinion. You have given a Mercedes Benz AMG GTS a completely new look thanks to Prior Design PD800GT widebody kit and a set of ADV10.0 M.V2 CS rims and call the whole project "Ghost“Which makes perfect sense in view of the paintwork.
But let's go into the body kit first! It includes a front spoiler that fits perfectly around the AMG bumper, side cup wings front and rear, side skirts, a large diffuser, new, significantly wider fenders in the front and attachments for the side walls at the rear. Optionally, a bonnet with large air inlets is also available, as you can see on the Folienwerk-NRW GT can see, but it was not installed here. Obviously, the GTS also gets a fixed rear wing, this comes from the Mercedes tuner RENNtech and ensures significantly more contact pressure. A highlight is of course the ADV.1 Wheels wheelset of the type ADV10.0 M.V2 CS in the chic glossy black in whose format we unfortunately have to guess. We assume that on the rear axle 21 Zöller are installed and the front axle is equipped with 20 inch format. To ensure that the wheelset sits optimally in the clearly widened wings, lowering the car was inevitable.
Here, too, the decision was made in favor of the manufacturer RENNtech and ordered a coilover kit that can be individually adjusted. And of course an increase in performance should not be missing in such a project and so from now on it is not 510 PS & 650 NM torque in the Stuttgart GT but, thanks to Weistec ECU chip tuning and a Capristo sports exhaust system with flap function, certainly a good 600 PS. The "Ghost" project is rounded off by a Satin Balloon White Pearl Foiling all around. With its silk gloss surface, the foiling enables the additionally attached aerodynamic parts to be skillfully set off. A beautiful vehicle that will be one of the highlights of the upcoming Chicago Auto Show (May 11-12.05.2017, XNUMX). If we get more information about the modifications to the AMG GTS, there is of course, as always, an update for this report.
