Question: "How inconspicuous would you like a 1.001 hp vehicle to be?" Answer: "JA"! This, or at least something similar, must have been the core idea behind the creation of this unique piece. We're talking about the off-roadStudy "MTM Safari“ as a mix of an A6, an RS6 and an Allroad of the C8 generation. The vehicle is known from the GRIP episode "15 years of GRIP, the great comeback of Wachtmeister Schelle". But what exactly is that part? The basis was an Audi A6 Allroad 55 TFSI of the current generation, which was turned completely inside out under the sheet metal. Visually, however, the conversion is much more subtle, if you look at the conspicuous Roof rack and LED light bar refrains. In the wheel arches, in-house MTMforged wheels of the BiMoto type in classic silver, with powerful Off-road tires are fully stocked. This ensures significantly more traction off the beaten track.

By the way, the tires are General GRABBER AT3 slippers, in the dimensions 275/40 R20 XL. The new wheelset was combined with a subtle Höherlegung a few millimeters in front and behind. From a visual point of view, the rest, apart from the foiling, has remained the same. The interior is different. Although the majority is still standard here, a few details still make the difference. First and foremost, of course, these are the ultra-light Recaro Bucket seats front. The controls for one are located in the center console Fire extinguishing system and behind the seats is a specially fitted one Roll cage installed instead of the rear seat and the load compartment cover. But the absolute highlight is under the inconspicuous bonnet. Because there MTM actually installed the 4,0-liter V8 from the RS6. And of course it is not standard, after all the vehicle comes from the tuner MTM.

the highlight is the engine of the MTM Safari

The engine was fitted with the 1.001 hp power kit, which MTM also has for the RS7, the RS Q8 and the Lamborghini Urus are. But as inconspicuous as in the MTM Safari it was never packed. One of the major modifications of the MTM performance upgrade for the VW EA825-V8-BiTurbo is the MTM control unit conversion Stage 4, a modified air duct with filter, a new intake and of course a powerful one Turbokit with other front pipes and 300 cpsi metal catalysts. In addition to smaller details, the automatic was also loaded with a special MTM transmission software. And that ensures that the studded tires that are less suitable for the asphalt Safari Let MTM accelerate to 2,9 km/h in just 100 seconds.

The power off-roader managed the sprint from 100 to 200 in just under 6 seconds, with all measurements carried out by MotorOliTV being carried out more or less "spontaneously" and certainly a few tenths would have been possible. And one should not forget that the Avant always has the roof rack (sometimes with and sometimes without Weihnachtsbaum) "carried along", which of course is a disaster in terms of aerodynamics.

But that's not what it's primarily about. Rather, the MTM Safari should be fun off-road. And you can see how much fun it is in the following video Motor OliTV, whom we would also like to thank again for the cool pictures.
