Fichtenberg (Germany), October 26, 2021 - The KW coilover kit variant 911 is now available for the current Porsche 992 (4) with or without a front axle lift system. The height-adjustable chassis, available from 5.499 euros, offers the feature to independently adjust the driving dynamics parameters in the low-speed and high-speed compression and low-speed rebound stages. As part of the parts certificate, the Porsche 911 Carrera, Carrera S, Turbo and Turbo S can be lowered continuously by up to 35 millimeters. KW coilovers with adjustable damper characteristics will soon appear for the other Porsche 911 models of the 992 series. More under www.kwsuspensions.de

Variant 4 for Porsche 911

The chassis manufacturer KW automotive offers for all models of the Porsche 911 including all air-cooled Porsche 911s as well as other Porsche vehicles such as Cayman, Cayenne or Macan, one of the largest delivery programs for height and damper characteristics adjustable sports and coilovers. The KW coilover kit variant 911 is now available for the current Porsche 992 of the 4 series. The chassis, with its three-way adjustable KW dampers, gives the sports car a plus in driving dynamics, combined with sporty ride comfort. Even with demanding driving maneuvers with rapid load changes, swiftly driving through tight bends or on fast sections of the motorway with transverse joints, the Porsche remains on track and easy to control.

On undulating asphalt surfaces, the KW coilover suspension variant 4, which can be set separately in the low-speed compression stage, high-speed compression stage and low-speed rebound stage, dampens harmoniously and prevents uneven driving behavior. Nodding and rolling movements that occur in the body structure are significantly reduced. The KW coilover kit can also be installed in all Porsche 911s of the 992 series with a front axle lift system, which means that despite the continuously adjustable lowering of 20 to 35 millimeters, speed bumps or steep garage entrances are not an obstacle.

KW multi-valve technology directly ensures more driving dynamics and rolling comfort

The three-way valve technology of the KW coilover kit variant 4 is based on KW chassis developments for the original equipment of sports cars and GT3 racing. "Using a three-way adjustable valve technology for coilovers gives us completely new possibilities in the chassis design", says KW Brand Manager Jonas Ehrmann. For example, similar KW shock absorbers with KW multi-valve technology are used in the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, 911 GT2 RS Clubsport and 911 GT3 R in Porsche customer sport. With the adjustable pressure level, the immersion speed of the damper piston rod is influenced to a certain extent. The pressure level also has an influence on pitching and rolling movements of the body as well as the steering behavior. If the pressure level is increased, the piston rod plunges more slowly.

The more direct the vehicle reacts to steering movements. The steering behavior becomes more precise, the tighter the compression setting is. If the valves are opened, the pressure level is reduced and the body submerges more quickly. "With variant 4, when setting the pressure level, a distinction can be made between slow piston rod movements, such as those that occur when steering, and fast damping speeds, such as those that occur when there is strong compression caused by bumps," explains Jonas Ehrmann. The adjustable low-speed rebound stage has a direct influence on the working speed when the piston rod rebounds. It controls how quickly the chassis spring relaxes back to its original position. So to speak, the diameters of the rebound valves are opened for a more comfortable driving behavior and closed for a tighter adjustment. “With our three-way adjustable dampers, we are much more flexible to offer all Porsche 911 drivers the best possible compromise between sporty driving dynamics and ride comfort on the road.

Adjustment instructions are always included

The scope of delivery always includes setting instructions that explain how the pre-set Sport + basic setting can be changed to a comfort-oriented Street basic setting with the tool-free setting wheel. "The parts certificate included in the scope of delivery enables the front axle to be lowered continuously from 20 to 35 millimeters and on the rear axle from 15 to 35 millimeters. In the Turbo and Turbo S models, the chassis can be used to set a depth of between 20 and 35 millimeters on both axles. The KW coilover kit variant 5.499 is available from 4 euros.
